Vitamins are expensive!!!

On average what do you spend on vitamins on a monthly- bimonthly basis?

I just ordered my Multivitamin, B12, Calcium, Iron & Vit D.

It came to $225.00 for a 2 month supply. I feel like that's a ton of money for just vitamins. I can afford it now but come long term I don't think that I will be able to.

I never thought they'd be so pricey.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Hilary

For the first 6-9 months during the majority of my weight loss phase, I bought bariatric vitamins.  I have since switched over to regular over the counter vits and my labs are just fine with the exception of my iron since I'm anemic.  I could not tolerate the iron my doctor prescribed so I kept buying Celebrate's grape flavored iron chewables because I love them.  I think most doctors can recommend some over the counter vits that are good.

Right now, the average I spend monthly for my multi, iron, Calcium & B12 is around $25-30.  My Calcium chews are probably the most expensive.

I probably average < $20.00/mo. Immediately pre-op when .i was on Gummi vitamins it was probably triple that amount. All generics at wally, cvs etc.

The surgeon here at my hospital recommends 2 Centrum chewables daily. I take Opurity, only have to take one per day but they are the size of a hockey puck. LOL. Look on Amazon, they have great deals on vits.

I don't pay near that.  I am just using One A day Vitacraves, Nature's Made Sublingual B-12, now Citracal + Vitamin d3.  My labs were good.  I don't take any iron but I have had partial hysterectomy so that is not an issue for me.

Try Puritan's Pride and Vitacost. Pretty good prices there.
