Hmm, I guess 50lb DOES make a difference...

I've been a bit discouraged over the past week or so because the scale has been "stuck." I know it happens to everybody, I've been upping my water, etc. but, ya know, mucho frustrating.

So last night I decided to go clothes shopping, since nothing really fit, and got a bunch of new shirts and some jeans at Old Navy. Took 2 trips back to the dressing room to swap for smaller sizes before things worked... apparently I really have no idea what size I am. Whee!

I didn't take any official "before" pictures, so I dug out a couple of photos taken at my brother's wedding in August of last year, 4 months before I had surgery, and compared them to a quick snap I took in the mirror in my new clothes. Sweet merciful crap, I guess the 50lb I've lost really HAS made a difference, I've just had a hard time seeing it for some reason.

Then: 20W pants, dress was 2X plus. Now: size 16 jeans (I fit into a 14, but too much muffin top!), size L top.

NO clue what I'll look like another 50lb down, but I guess there's nothing to do but wait and see :)

You look fab - way to go!!!!    It is VERY important to wear clothes that fit you - many of us get so used to wearing loose clothing because we think it makes us look slimmer (ummmm, no!) And while you are losing weight, seeing the clothes size go down and actually seeing your body in clothes is a huge self esteem booster!

Goodwill, Walmart and Old Navy are your friends during your weight loss - down with saggy, baggy jeans and pants!!

I agree with Kim on this about the clothes.I shop Old Navy's clearance rack online all the time and the stores clearance. You look great and should be so proud of yourself.

Great job! Huge difference! It took me longer to see a change because I had more to lose but about 50 or 60 pounds, I definitely started to see it.

And, yes, like Kim said, the discount clothing stores are definitely the ones to shop during this phase.  I go to Ross and Bealls about once a week now and won't buy any piece of clothing that's over 20 bucks! :-) Happy shopping!

Hottie Pants!

so happy and so proud!

i kept having to remind myself that I would not see a difference like everyone else, because I look in the mirror every day. It seemed like it took forever! coincidentally, old navy was the place where I had my first reality check, too! For Christmas, my parents got me a gift card...because that was essentially all I needed...clothes that fit. It took me several trips to the dressing room to get it right, too!

you keep on keeping on, my friend. You...look...great!
