After being told that my surgery could be scheduled as far out as 4 months, I was rather disappointed. My daughter plays travel softball and she's the starting catcher this year. She's got an unbelievable natural talent when it comes to this sport and it's amazing to watch her play and grow with each game. My absolute favorite place to be from May-August is on a softball field. So the thought of missing even one game really bummed me out. The Softball Gods were listening though!

My doctor's office called the following week with a surgery date of March 7! There will be no games missed for this crazy Softball Mom!!!

Woot Woot! Woot Woot! I'm doing my fat girl happy dance! Woot Woot! Woot Woot!

I love how you've tracked your weight loss. Can you dumb it down for me? What does M1 stand for? Month 1?

Yup. Month 1... month 2... etc. Always calculated on the 16th of the month.

I just started exercising about... oh maybe 10 pounds ago? Prior to that I started parking at the back of any parking lot (much to the chagrin of my kids LOL), walking DOWN the stairs at work (3 flights), and getting up and walking in general at work (Like a lap around the floor before I refill my glass of water, etc)... I got a bike last Fall and hope to use it more when Spring arrives...  Now I'm going to the gym, and mostly doing strength training, with just a little cardio thrown in there... I don't like those jumpy dance classes even a little.

The diet it the more important thing for the weight loss... I've learned that from all of the longtimers on here... they've been the best of knowledge for me!!

I do actually like doing Zumba and pretty much any type of aerobics. I don't know how that will work after though. My joints are pretty sensitive right now from my osteoarthritis. However, with weight-loss that will gradually improve. So I'm foreseeing weight-loss first, then strength training to tone up and then perhaps some Zumba. We'll see.

I'm just excited about running! I haven't been able to hit my stride in probably about 2 years and the thought about being able to get back to that and improve upon it, let alone simply run more than 10 minutes, just makes me smile! I look forward to going to Cedar Point with my youngest who LOVES coasters just as much as her father, brother, sister and myself. I just look forward to being normal again.

As a fellow spoonie, if your joints are giving you trouble, get in the pool.  I joined a gym with an indoor pool, and will either just walk the laps (they even have "weights" that can help your upper body strength while walking) or get a kickboard.  Exercising in the water takes the pressure off your joints, and the cool water helps with inflammation.

Can I ask if you exercise as well? If so, what do you do?

Congrats!  My kiddo played softball in HS, and I did NOT enjoy being outside here in TX during season.  We'd invariably have a few games early on where we were freezing to death in the stands, and then it gets HOT HOT HOT.

I used to joke with her that we had made an agreement when she was young, that she would only play INDOOR sports - BBall, VBall, etc. and that she BROKE OUR CONTRACT.  LOL.  But it was definitely her sport, and it was fun to watch her grow with her team.

Glad you're going to be able to go to all your kiddo's games, and that you've got a date.  :)

Congrats!!! Crazy softball mom here too! My daughter is in 8U. She loves to be catcher but since they are so young they still rotate the girls in the catching position. She mainly plays 3rd base.
