I find sipping broth helpful. It is warm and soothing and savory. It is satisfying in a way plain water isn't. There are lots of low sodium options if sodium is a concern, or you can easily and cheaply make your own.

If I want to just chew, I chew sugar free gum. Almost everything will taste awful after a mouthful of mint gum, if you do give in and eat something.

Another thing I do sometimes is drag out my cookbooks and think about how to modify recipes to be wls friendly or watch the food network, especially if they are showing something about really greasy fried foods. I have no idea why indulging in food porn works, but it does.

I fight badgers with spoons.

I always have an evening snack of home made veggie soup. It's mostly the broth with just a few veggies and a few pieces of meat but it does the trick plus it helps me get my water in as well.

I like the food porn, as well. Or I try and get lost in these boards (easy to do)!

Many times, I will drink and drink and drink water.

And, any given day of the week, I'll eat a petite dill pickle...it's still food and SALTY but it is way better than running down to the gas station and rabbing as much as my two hands can carry, which i used to do more than I care to admit:/

I have horrible problems snacking in the evenings.....AHHH!!!!!

Number one rule - if I dont have crap in the house, I can't eat it. That's my "damage control" safety net. No chips, crackers, cookies, ice cream.

Number two rule - I try not to buy things that are easy to grab and snack on - bread is my downfall, even when i get low carb tortillas and stuff, it's easy just to make a sandwich or quesadilla or something, so i try to just buy food i have to actually cook. (i fail more and more at this lately but i still limit it)

I usually break up my dinner into multiple little snacks so I will say....eat a serving of veggies first and then 30 minutes later eat my protein...just because I know I like to graze as it is...at least its planned.

I drink tons and tons of water (mio - love the stuff). I have diet hot chocolate thats 25 cals and I make myself a cup of that - it's warm and sweet which satisfies me usually and doesnt do a whole lot of damage even if I had 2-3 cups of it.

Working out in the evenings usually helps me too because than im busy and an hour or two that im busy is an hour or two I cant eat.

I am a sugar free popsicle girl.  My son knows to bring me no less than 2 if he is around the freezer.  At 15 cals per popcisle I can eat several and feel satisfied and have had sweet stuff too!

I absolutely love my evening snack. When I plan my day, I make sure to allow for an evening snack. I try to make sure it is a source of protein. Tonights snack was homemade (imitation) crab salad. Yummy!!!

i eat every 2-3 hours on schedule all day long to prevent overwhelming hunger in the evenings. I have my last snack right before I go to bed. Are you sure you are eating enough during the day? I think you need to eat something in the evening, but plan for it. Not just mindless grazing.
