I think your're actually doing very well.  This period of time is really all about healing - most people say if you lose anything to look at it as a bonus.  It's not necessarily going to speed up with first fill either.  It can take a few fills to get to the point where the band is restricted enough.  Patience, patience.  Now's the time to practice the band eating rules, start and exercise routine and do the best you can.  The next month or so is called Bandster Hell for a very good reaon!!    Jean B.

Yup, sistah!  I think you're obsessing over the scale.  I know 'cuz I do it too.  I got my band about a month before you and I've lost 25 lbs.  I had my first fill December 21st and lost about 4.5 lbs during the next month.  Not as much as I would have liked.  But I didn't really feel any restriction.  I just got another fill yesterday so I'm up to 1.5 cc's and hope I feel something more from this one.  These first few months require a lot of patience - more for some of us than others.  But, I do believe it will get better once we get to that elusive "sweet spot".  Hang it there.  You are doing lots to improve your health and the scale will follow. (right??)  Jean B.

I'm thinking I hope this 2nd fill works, at least a little.  I'm thinking that I'm tired of a liquid diet and this is only the 2nd day.  I'm thinking Friday, as always, is something to look forward and this week, it means I'll get to eat mushies, and that's a good thing.  It's also supposed to get up to 33 degrees tomorrow (just before the bottom drops out of the thermometer this weekend).  And I'm still thinking I need to get a picture put up here.  Jean B.

Good Morning!  Just finished my work out at Curves and am now at work.  I haven't been here to read anything about the Munchies, but I have them BAD!!  Nice to know I'm not alone.  I am going for my 2nd fill later this morning and sure hope it helps.  I've been fighting the same 2 lbs for the past 3 weeks and I wish they'd just go away.  Must be all those muscles I'm building since I started at Curves last week.....Hah!  I'm between 23-25 lbs. lost since surgery on Oct. 23rd.  Not impressive, but at least it's down.  But, I want more.  Have a good day.  Jean B.

Wendell, that is such a healthy way to look at food and eating.  My goal is to be able to eat like my mom does - which is basically what you described. She's 83, healthy and has never had a weight problem.  She has preached moderation to me my whole life.  I'm hoping with the help of my band, that I can put moderation into practice.  Jean B.

I'm sitting here at work with not much to do and thinking....  Hope the fill I'm getting this week (#2) will give me some restriction and I'll start losing some pounds.  Wish my TOM would get here, 'cuz its late and I'm bloated.  Should I pay to get my car fixed (electrical problems) or just trade the darn thing in and start over again - and should I buy new or used, or should I try to lease?  I'm tired of winter and spring is at least 2 months away.   I'm thinking I should get a picture taken and posted, so I don't feel like such a nobody when I post. I'm glad you started this post.  Jean B.

Thanks, Christine.  I needed a positive thought this morning.  Haven't lost anything in a couple of weeks and am feeling a bit discouraged.  Gotta think "thin and healthy".  I go for my 2nd fill this week and hope that will make this a little easier.  Have a good day!  Jean B.

Topic: RE: Curves
I just joined Curves last week - so far, so good.  I drive right by it on my way to work and thought about joining quite awhile, before I actually went in.  I do walk almost every night, but knew I wanted to do some strenght training and tighten some areas.  I go on my way to work - it's never crowded and everyone is really friendly.  The staff has been very helpful and has watched carefully to make sure I'm doing each machine correctly.  I'll give it a few months to see what kind of results I get.  I signed a year's contract, but can cancel it with a 30-day written notice.  It feels good so far!  Jean B.

Well, it's a boring day here for me too.  I'm at work, but I have almost everything done and have 2 more hours to go.  All I want to do today is EAT.  I had CIB with protein for breakfast, went to Curves and an hour later was starving so I had a crave control yogurt AND a South Beach protein bar - usually have just one or the other.  Went home for lunch and had 2 oz. of turkey, 1 string cheese, 1/2 c. of broccoli, and a sf pudding.  And then I had a Zone protein bar.  Nothing bad in and of itself, but way too much when added together.  And I still would like to have something to eat.  This is by far the worst day I've had.  Hopefully, that fill next week will help.  I haven't lost anything in the last couple of weeks......Nothing much going on this weekend.   Think I'll go to the library and find something steamy to read and live vicariously though that.  Have a good one everyone!  Jean B.
