Will they postpone your surgery if you have iron issues ? Anyone?

Nothing is certain. You know your iron is low... you are working on correcting it, and your appointments are not for a while. Keep doing what you're doing.

I know you've also been really focused on pre-surgery weight loss. Maybe right now is the time to focus more on vitamin levels rather than restriction... to get your levels back up and be healthy for surgery.

Im not a health professional. I'm sure you're consulting with one. It's just a thought. :)

It didn't make a difference for me, but I was already taking an iron supplement for it, so that could be a factor. I'd definitely talk to your doctor about starting a supplement if you aren't already on one. Iron is really important in general, not just for WLS. Good luck!

OAAT you are right I have been so focused on losing that I did not recover from the food poisioning fully... I am consciously trying to stabilize and get my iron up now. I have been weak- thanks ;)

I'm sure that you were told this, but just a reminder to take your iron supplement with a Vit.C supplement so that the iron is better absorbed. Also cooking in a cast iron pan may help. There has been research showing that caffeine inhibits the absorption of iron. Guelph clinic warns against caffeine because of that and also because they say it is an irritant to the stomach.
