Protein Ice cream help please- aka- save my family!!!!

I have been making protein ice creams from Shelley's website and they are FABulous.  The only issue is my family likes it too!!!  So, because I truly love them, and dont want to go to jail for killing them for eating my ice cream.......I was wondering about making double batches.   Some reciepes do NOT double well, and before I wasted 4 scoops of pricey protein powder, I wanted to find out if anyone had ever doubled them.   Yes, I can just make extra batches, but my ice cream maker requires at least 15 hours of freezing.  Worst case senario, I make a batch a day and get ahead. :-)   Thanks in advance for your input.

Hmmm... I just tell my family hands off and to go hit the blue bell in the freezer.  :)  You are way nicer than me!

I agree with Heather.  Either let them get their own ice cream or if you want them to feel special make them their own ice cream but leave out the expensive protein powder.  Just make it with milk, or cream even, and flavorings and they will be happy and you will be happy.  They can have their own custom flavors without the expense.  Unless having extra protein is part of the appeal.

Another idea.  I don't know what kind of ice cream maker you have but many of them you can buy an extra thing that you put in the freezer so you can make more then one batch a day.

Get another bowl for the ice cream maker. The you have 2... to make as often as you want.

i wouldn't personally feed protein ice cream to my family - too much protein isn't good and they can get what they need from regular food. I would rather make healthy ice cream for them.

i do need to get an ice cream maker though!

my extra bowl for my cuisanart was like $15 so that is defenitly a possibility.  my only concern is if you have kids then the extra protien may not be the best for them.  we don't absorb protien like normal people so that would be my concern.

you could make a batch with no protien powder and put in small bowls and label it

Thanks for all the replies. My kitchen aid mixer came with the ice cream maker, so I didnt even think about getting an extra bowl. Duh!!!    No worries about the extra protein for the family, thanks for pointing it out though!!
