I know my surgeon requires you do that but the other surgeon in the group does not. I'm not even sure what the point of it is.

Some people have bowel prep and some dont.

I didnt. I had to eat only clear liquids/jello for 3 days before surgery. I lost 5 lbs in that time. Being on clear liquids gave me runny poop.

It did its job

RNY Surgery: 12/31/2013;

Current weight (2/27/2015) 139lbs, ~14% body fat

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !

I had to take the same stuff for a colonoscopy the day before. I think it is magnesium citrate.

Is it true they have to go in and clean out your bowels before surgery?
