I wish I could do pictures, we have sooooooooooooooooo much snow and it is snowing so hard right now I can barely see the houses across the street!  We will definitely end up with over 20 inches in this storm!  I will certainly get my exercise in today, shoveling our driveway and walkways and helping my neighbor's with their's, but it is so good that I can do that now!

I have thyroid disease so I have dry skin anyway, but since surgery my skin crawls it is so itchy.  I use tons and tons of cream and it helps a little.

Morning! 

Busy snowy  weekend has come to a conclusion! We got almost a door of snow yesterday afternoon/evening. I'm playing it by ear if I want to head to the other side of the city this morning to go to the gym...not sure I want to deal with snow and rush hour...

qotd: Story.of.my.life!  I actually went for a manicure Friday. It helped a lot. I use aveno lotion, and it's the only one that works for me. But if I get lazy and miss a day or two. Yikes! We heat with gas, so our place isn't too dry. But both sets of parents supplement with electric and it's crazy drying on my skin!

Good Morning!

Love the picture of you and the pups! Looks like you all are enjoying the snow :)

It was another low key weekend. Got in two really good workouts, felt good! I met up with my cousin and her fiancé, they are avid lifters and helped me navigate the free weights. I have always hesitated because I am so not sure what to do, so it was helpful to workout with them. I hope to be able to do so more often, but it's hard to coordinate schedules. I also did all of our meal prep for the week - always makes it so much easier during the week to pack lunches and make dinner.

My hands are so dry and cracked, it stinks. Working in the hospital I seem to sanitize my hands all the time this time of the year trying to avoid the germs. I use Lubiderm Advanced on my hands, and Moisture Surge by Clinique at night, over my regular moisturizer, for my face. Both work ok, I'm just bad about putting lotion on my hands - I don't love the feeling of it.

I'm down to the last 5 days in Florida - I fly back to Massachusetts on Saturday for 4 weeks, then back here for 2 prior to driving home. I started a cold last night, with sore throat, headache, and runny nose.  Yuck!  

QOTD: My skin, hair and even fingernails get dry up north in the dry air.  My fingernails break constantly so I have to keep them short in winter.  Even the last week here in Florida has improved everything.  I find that moisturizers with shea butter work best.

Good Morning! Weekend was really nice and I didn't go off menu so that is always a plus! Got a lot of rain here yesterday and the wind was and still is crazy!! Not looking forward to walking dogs in that. I don't know how you do it Daisydoo02!!!  My skin has gotten dryer but I think I just figured it was due to my aging. Seems to get worse and worse each year. Of course much worse in winter and I have to wash my hands all the time for work so that makes it even worse yet! Yesterday's menu ended up looking like this: B: coffee and pepperoni stick L: chopped steak with cottage cheese D: Michigan salad with chicken S: about 5 almonds

Hubby and I had a wonderful weekend! Lots of relaxing, walking on the beach, just having fun and enjoying each other. We should really get away more!

Qotd: YES! I thought it was me, I'm so dry all the time. Ugh, I can't stand how my skin feels. It's so rough! I told my surgeon about it and he told me to add in some extra vitamin C. Something about it helping with collagen and improving wound healing? It has improved some, but I still feeling itchy and dry some days. I probably need more water.

 

Clean menu today, time wash away this weekend's bad habits. :)
