Ideas for getting tape residue off stomach

So it has been five days since my surgery and I still have the adhesivemarks from the take all over my stomach. I took soap and water and it is not coming off. Does anyone else have this problem or a suggestion?
Also, my "big" incision is itching. It is not red or anything, just itches.
Thanks
Gina

Welcome to my world! I have sticky stuff all over me from tape and glue. It took 3 days of the iodine stains to come off! Im waiting until my incisions are better healed to try and serious scrubbing.

The itching is normal. At least I hope so, cause mine has been itchy

This might sound silly but any type of oil like olive or corn and so on. The oil counter acts with the stickyness just like goo gone takes of stickers from walls because it uses orange oil.

The doctor's office can give you a small packet of adhesive remover spefically to remove the tape residue. There are probably different kinds but mine was Uni-Solve Adhesive remover wipes. Get them from your surgeon's office. They work great.

My surgeon's office gave me adhesive remover pads.  It was a week after surgery and that was the only thing that worked.

The itching is normal, it's healing.  I have the same thing going on with the last of my scabbed incisions.  Don't scratch!

Good Luck!

Thanks! I am going to try the oil first and then if it is still not off I will ask on Monday when I go back for my check in.

I didn't get my steri-strips off until today but I've been cleaning and trimming them.  The adhesive is a witch.  I used baby oil gel and Q-tips then took the excess oil off with alcohol.  It's a job that's for sure.  I don't know how many times I've done it.

Best,
L

The adhesive remover wipes I know of are called Allkare and are made by ConvaTec. Hospitals carry them and some docs. Drug stores also sell them here in Nova Scotia because people with colostomies use them.

Try fingernail polish remover on a cotton ball. Just over the adhesive areas none on the incisions. Works great!

Baby Oil or eye makeup remover (which is essentially the same thing). Took mine off with only a little friction.
