Panic attack at the grocery store tonight

So I needed diapers for my daughter and a few groceries for the house. My husband, kids and I went to the grocery store tonight. I felt so weird all of the sudden when I was in the store. I went on the next isle to go get some organic soup for me and I felt like the room was coming in, heart got fast, and felt like I was going to pass out. I have not had one in like 20 years. Has anyone else had one since they had surgery?
I will tell you going to the store and being on all liquids sucked big time!

Hi Gina,
Sorry this happened but don't worry I think it is probably because you are still tired. I went out yesterday, thought I was stronger but I'm not yet so I went back to the car. I rested more today, took an extra nap, tried to drink and eat a little more and am feeling better. My surgeon told me remember you just had major surgery!

I had my first panic attack after I had knee surgery a few years back.  Panic attacks are horrible so I'm so sorry you had to go through that.  I think it could be a culmination of all the stress you've been under.  Having surgery puts some much stress on you physically and emotionally.

Call your doctor and explain what happened.  For me, that was a start of other symptoms like heart pounding.  After heart issues were ruled out, I started on Lexapro then changed to Cymbalta, which is working very well for me.  I do take an occasional Xanax for tough times.  For example, the other night I woke up in a sheer panic??  No reason why that happens.

ALSO--get your iron checked.  My friend had similar symptoms and it was low iron!!!

I hope this is a once only episode and I'm sorry you went through that.  No one knows how terrible they can be until you go through the.

Thanks everyone. I see the doctor on Tuesday so I am definately going to bring it up to him.  I did end up going to sleep at 830pm last night and got a really good nights sleep. I have had not troubles getting my fluids or proteins in so maybe it is low iron.
