Introducing myself
HI
I am from Newfoundland, Canada and I just wanted to say hello. I am fairly new to the boards but I have been enjoying reading your posts. You are all teaching me so much. I am still waiting for a consult - there is quite a wait list here. So in the meantime I am trying to lose some weight on my own (very hard but I am taking it slow) and hoping and praying that I get in for a consult soon.
I have started a blog - feel free to have a read if you wish! Thanks again for sharing your stories - it makes a world of difference

Welcome ! It is quite a wild ride -- I managed to lose 34 pounds in 5 months pre op on a low cal/low carb diet while waiting for surgery. Now have lost 81 since surgery at the end of January. I'm not a fast loser, but I'm down 115 pounds !!! and have gone from a womans 28 pant to a ladies 16 petite pant. Shirts from a 3X or 4X to an ladies XL.
It is not easy, nor is it for those without true commitment to a totally new lifestyle.... but for me, I am more than thrilled to have a new life at 55 years old !!!
It's not a race, it's a life style change !!
