drinking liquids too fast

I've been having a hard time getting all my liquids in by sipping. So I was wondering when you are able to take bigger drinks. I know it somewhat varies by individuals and I know I'll never be able to just chug a bottle of water but I'm just trying to get an idea.

And if you tell me to just try it, my next question is, if I take too big a drink, will it actually make me sick or will I just feel uncomfortable?

From my experience when I take to big of a drink it comes right back up. If not it does cause discomfort. I am 3 months out now and I can't chug but I can sit here typing and finish 32 oz within an hour or maybe an hour and a half. if I just keep drinking away. It doesn't really make you sick it just comes right back up if your tummy can't hold it.

By 2 months, I was comfortable taking big drinks. Now I can drink 32 oz in a half hour - I usually don't, but I can. The only time big drinks bothers me is when I'm working out and I gulp air with it.

I don't chug necessarily but I can drink a lot. Never bothers me, never feel uncomfortable.

A big drink will hurt. Badly. A really big drink will come back up for a return visit. Icky and not good for your sleeve!

I can drink fairly rapidly at 6 months out, but still too big a drink at once hurts. I can drink 16 oz in about a little over half an hour (that's clear liquids - protein shakes close my pyloric valve somewhat and I have to drink them more slowly - about 8 oz in a half hour).

I agree.. When I try to gulp liquids down... It hurts soooooo bad... It feels like someone is squeezing me.. Keep sipping eventually you will know what your body can tolerate.

Thanks everyone. I will take it slow and see what I can handle.
