No bread EVER again?
Those items are really not a good choice for our new lifestyle. First, they are generally empty calories. Second, they are carbs, which for some of us make us crave more carbs (me!). Third, they tend to be sliders, meaning they slide right through our stomachs and therefore allow us to eat A LOT of them.
If anything, they should be avoided during weight loss so you maximize the fat burn. May be added back in maintenance depending on how much control you have with them.
Lastly, some folks find that these items make them feel icky.
My 2 cents. Hope this helps.

I agree with they are no no's during the weight loss time but after a year or so I thought I would be able to enjoy a slice of bread once in awhile. But my surgeon says the opposite about them being sliders, he said they get stuck in our stomachs. Which puzzles me because it was my understanding one of the best parts about the sleeve is you can eat whatever you want in moderation of course after you have lost your weight. So I'm confused? But thanks for your response! :o)
According to my surgeon it is very dangerous, even years down the road because they can get stuck in our stomachs? That is what he said and it really confused me. I know not to even go near anything like that until I am in maintenence and then I need to really watch it but the fact that it could be dangerous to my health???
I eat whole wheat pizza once a week, I have noodles every once in a blue moon (usually homemade whole wheat), and I ate half a bagel this morning (I am at goal), not stuck or sick. You have a normally functioning stomach, not sure how anything could get stuck in it. With the LapBand yeah, with the RNY possibly, but your stomach functions in exactly the same way it did before only it's smaller. SO you might feel uncomfortable for a bit, but I have never heard of anyone hurting themselves with bread or pasta, even years out.
