my best guess is dehydration.  But I think of a lot of people still drink it.

Addictive...transfer addictions lol. Oh wait, thats just me.

Some medical professionals believe it *causes* dehydration. Most are moving away from that belief. What happens is that when you dont consume it regularly, it can have a slight diuretic effect. If you have caffeine more frequently (and not even every day) that diuretic effect disappears. I dont believe that caffeine causes dehydration otherwise Id be in the hospital. I do however, always drink a minimum of 80-100 oz of OTHER, calorie free, non caffeinated fluids in addition to my coffee, so it will never be an issue for me.

A lot of people drink it. Id recommend waiting for several months before drinking caffeinated drinks though - wait till your stomach is healed, and you can get in required fluids/protein.

And, on the "not have it again" point, there is virtually nothing about the VSG that requires a permanent dietary change - there is nothing that we "can't have again", though there may be things that some individuals should do or not do to avoid regain, but those are individual restrictions and not those of the VSG.

Liquids don't stretch the sleeve.  They'll either go down or come back up!
