NSV for an old lady vet

So I am coming up on six years in November. Have kept my weight off pretty well at 126 and 5'4".

At age 64 I recently decided I looked like an old hag. Got new trendy looking glasses. Also a new short layered haircut for the first time in about 30 years.

Anyway, I work at a group art studio. One of the regular guys who does not know me well said to me "so are you dating or what? all this new hair and such". made me giggle. I told him I was happily married for 20 years. But it was sure nice for someone to notice that I looked decent. Diane

Hi, Diane! I'm turning 64 this month. Had the sleeve surgery back in February and am still in the weight loss stage. It's nice to hear that it's worth taking care of your appearance after the disaster of obesity. With 90 pounds lost (so far), I find I'm getting more interested in hair care, makeup, and mani-pedis myself. I never bothered at my high weight of 275 (I'm 5'1"). What would have been the point?

thanks psycho parrot. life does indeed go on after getting to goal . lot of people find themselves lost at that point. but there is so much more to life at normal weight. like my brother buying me $200 jeans, going to costco and everything is too big, not going to pancake breakfasts, walking without the slow old dogs, and just moving and eating well.

our art gallery has a monthly opening and the food person always serves not so good stuff. I don't want to work openings because of bad food availability. Food person wants to quit for a bit. I see it as a chance to do healthy stuff and not sugary punch and bread. Grapes, not bread and brie. diane
