Happy Ground Hog Day !!!

Once an elementary school teacher... always an elementary school teacher !  Welcome to Deb, Nessie and Joey Jo !

I walked 2,600 steps yesterday and used my standing desk for a couple of hours. I have lymphedema in my right leg due to vascular damage after a DVT following an open reduction of ankle 30 years ago. I'll have to find a balance between standing, walking, and elevating. My data point for today  is up .4, but my calories and macros were on point.

Yes, my take aways from yesterday's posts were being transparent and accountable to my "daily data point", looking at how clothes fit/measurements as data points, and bringing yogurt with blueberries for PM snack today !

Sending positive energy... and let's hope for Spring right around the corner !

124.6 or 124.8, can't remember which one it was - up a little either way. While my weight is still okay (I am happy at 125 or a little less) my eating has not been the best. Too much grazing (and not always the best choices) and I know that is a slippery slope. My intention today is to have my 3 meals (maybe a little more calories per meal) and 2 protein drinks and one on-plan snack (not a chocolate chip cookie, Paula!).

Shel, it was interesting reading your thread yesterday. I too sometimes feel like burying my head in the sand when the number on the scale isn't what I want to see or the My Fitness Pal macros are telling me I'm not sticking with "the plan". Been tempted to not enter things for that very reason, but why? It doesn't change the fact that I ate that cookie or whatever it may have been.

I so very much appreciate the support of this group but know I need the accountability as well.

Paula

I feel the same way about MFP. Usually I can appeal to my science side of the brain that I want my data to be accurate....but that doesn't keep me from being tempted over and over and over again.

I coveted your homemade chocolate chip cookie dough from afar.  A couple of weeks ago, I was going to have a cookie that was in the freezer that was saved from my mom's Christmas box.  THERE WAS NO COOKIE IN THE FREEZER!  My poor daughter probably won't eat my cookie again.  Or, maybe she will....sometimes it is worth it, no matter the consequences.

Hello all,

126.9 this morning.  Personal training tonight and hopefully time for some home yoga tonight if it doesn't keep me from sleep.

Thank you to all for your encouragement and words of wisdom yesterday.  My desire to ostrich (now a verb!) is very strong and your counterbalance valuable.  I am so glad that I decided to join the group.  Upon reflection, my resistance to joining a group was related to my inner ostrich who KNEW that eventually there would be unwanted news that I didn't want to face, much less share.

So happy to see the new folks on the board, no matter what stage of maintenance you are in!

Happy ground hog day! Happy yogurt! Happy potential puppies!  Those of us in the north have noticed the extra glorious daylight.  Is it noticeable in California?

Good morning maintenance peeps. Scale is still at 113. Hope our newcomers chime in again today. We're glad to have you with us and welcome hearing about your experiences.

I'm sitting here having my breakfast and feeling grateful for this group.  You really do keep me focused on my goals  and you lift my spirits every day.  While I'm struggling with lots of things right now, it's a blessing to check in here each day.

Have a good one.

Scale is exactly the same as yesterday.  ugh.  162.8.  At least it's not higher.  I know I did the right things yesterday, except I should have exercised.

Today, speaking of groundhog day, I'm going to hit the cardio cinema and watch groundhog day the movie.  Crockpot salsa verde chicken is already on for Taco Tuesday--so I know I won't get to make bad choices for dinner.

B:  1/2 everything bagel, poached egg, coffee w/ cream

S:  P3 chicken grillers barbecue and chicken

L:  Firs****ch Cafe.  Thinking about having half of what I like--the chickichanga with a side of potatoes.  It's more carby, and 320 calories for half.  Or getting eggs and turkey sausage, which I don't like as much, but more protein-focused, but doesn't save well.  Decisions.

S:  I have a muscle milk protein shake here.  Or nothing.

E:  treadmill

D:  salsa verde chicken, soft corn tortilla, shredded lettuce, light sour cream, sauteed zucchini and corn

How do you make your chicken? Sounds yummy! I'm having taco salad for lunch. Didn't even think about taco Tuesday - leftovers from last night!

The salsa verde chicken?  I put about 1.5lbs. frozen chicken tenders in a crockpot (there is some debate about whether cooking chicken from frozen in the crockpot is at risk for bacteria--but I live on the wild side because it's easier this way) and top with a bottle of herdez salsa verde and some Mrs. Dash chicken fajita.  I've made it before like this although I cannot recall if I added other seasonings.  I will report tonight.

Down .8 today. Back in the 202 range.

I, too, so look forward to checking in each morning. I also want to thank Shel for igniting the idea of accountability yesterday. I think when we choose to be accountable to ourselves and be free with our weight numbers here, we let the cloak of shame and denial slip off our shoulders and on to the floor and step away from it feeling the the freedom the release of that garment gives us. It can be a very hard step, but it really is a freeing step.

Carbs and cals and protein were all on point yesterday. 8 oz shy on water for the day. Will fix that today. Work, a client, and then hopefully, a workout. I'd like to get back to the gym. My leg is still a bit tight, but there is no pain.
