It is a gloomy morning on Cape Cod - humid and grey with a chance of showers later. Good day to do errands, etc. By 6 am I have cleaned up the dog beds, replaced all the pads and all cleanable items are in the washer. Chiquita is on a temporary bed, but she doesn't mind too much as she hates when her bed isn't clean. I have Duchess' bed pads covered in plastic (wrapped in old towels) - I may have to do the same for Chiquita. As Diane says, it is like running assisted living for dogs!

I hope you all have an enjoyable and/or productive Saturday!

Morning, Liz -- you're up and at 'em this morning! I've been up a while, too, but so far I'm just sitting in My Chair (what an important piece of furniture that's become over the years) listening to music and surfing the net.

Yesterday I picked up an application to rent a duplex in our local retirement village -- a move we want to make at some point, which could be years from now. The obvious benefit of putting our names on the list now (rather than waiting) gives us faster access to units as they become available. And happily, saying "No, not yet" when they call does NOT lower our rank on the wait-list. Therefore, applying now is only logical, right? Still, it felt a bit odd, feeling as youthful and able as I do now, to take this step. I suppose good health and vitality feels infinite until it isn't. So odd how one's ability to be logical doesn't have much to do with one's feelings. Says this one.

Our outside thermometer this morning reads 61 degrees -- brrrr! I'll be doing pretty lively sun salutations this morning. Then it's a weeding and mowing day.

Happy Saturday to all. :)

Putting your name on the list is the smart and proactive thing to do, but oh boy - I'm not sure I can do that when I should...

Greetings Fellow Dog Servants

Yep, thats me. Dog maid and care giver. Our house is full of doggie treadmill, kennels, ex pens grooming table, sheets over the sofa and all manner of dog things. And DH is out on the deck building an improved back yard gate to keep the dogs out of the side yard. He bought some little gadget that makes a high frequency sound when Tesla barks. No telling what we spend on dog meds and vet bills but more than for my own health care. But I can't imagine life without them.

Gallery duty this morning. Lots of visitors but not too many sales. Then I checked in at the studio and stopped at the natural foods store for some good quality sausages to eat with sauerkraut.

Hey, just read on Caring Bridge that Ben and Paula are home and doing well. Huge relief.

Well I hope everyone has some fun this weekend. I hope DH is not screwing that gate into the deck ...... Diane S

Our dogs are our family too.

Great news about Ben being home. I am so happy things are progressing well for him!
