Dave, so great to hear from you and happy that you are doing good food-wise!

144.something. About the same as I have been for quite a while. As I said before, I think my body likes this weight!

Off to work so just a short post today!

It feels great to be on the right path! I'm going to remember that today. Dave, so good to see you out and about!

BB, in my work people tell me all the time how they are going to lose weight. Some of them have already lost weight and a lot of weight at that. My lips give encouragement and congratulations. My brain is thinking "too bad it won't work/last." At least science backs up that it is really hard to keep weight off and WLS improves the statistics.

Considering our population's ever expanding waistlines, society is a self-loathing hypocrite. Unfortunately, that prejudice exists in my brain, too. I don't like it in me but it is there. This is grim. Move on people!

Legs up the wall! All of you!

Shel

David-you can do this!!!

Shel-yes, same here. Every time my aunt starts a diet again I have a hard time internally thinking "why is she wasting her time!!!" Not so much with her because I think she "can't" do it--just that the system is set up for failure.

162.2

I'm having a really hard day today. I think Tom Petty passing was the straw that broke the camel's back. Obviously his loss in the grand scheme of things, especially what happened yesterday is so small. But that coupled with losing a friend so young, and senseless violence seemingly every week, and Petty dying at what i consider way to young. Ugh. What kind of world am I bringing a kid into?

I guess one of the things I like to do when things don't make sense is listen to music. But now a person can't go to a concert without fear of being shot down?! Or a nightclub? Or a movie premiere? Or school?!

I know there is so much good to focus on but I'm struggling to see it today.

I think today I'm giving myself a "my favorite things" day. Well besides work. I'm going to try to think happy. Like pumpkins and mums and good-smelling candles and cat snuggles and Meg Ryan movies and classic rock.

Greetings Great Ones

Just a quick one as I am due at gallery in 30 main. Just wanted to say how beautiful Elise and godchildren are and how much of Liz I can see in Elise. Thanks for sharing her birthday.

I will have more later. I wrote my usually lengthy drivel post yesterday but computer ate it (hope you get fat MAC) so I never got anything posted.

137.5 today. That feels good. More later when I escape the "Fresh Fudge" sign.

Greetings Fall Fans

Yep it really is here even though we had a sunny day today. It was super windy up a the gallery and I had to take our "open" flag down. Many interesting people came through but few sales. I ate no fudge. Not even interested (a taco would be another matter).

Dave so good to hear from you and catch up with your activities . Sounds like you are doing well weight wise. Hey I think you need a truck. Could you get an old one and fix it up as a project? I like to watch "American Pickers" and they get all these old vehicles to restore. Yep, the Prius is back to its old perky self and I am grateful.

An unusually busy week with multiple gallery days. We have new artists admitted and have to fit them in. But its good for business to get them in before Christmas.

Still getting lots of calls and messages about the death of my mom's rather difficult friend. Everyone thinks I am in charge of everything. I have to do her funeral arrangements. I might be her executor but if so I will pass it on to a trust company. Its kind of a relief because when I go back there in a week or so for my mom's house, I know she would have wanted to boss me around and such. Peace is so valuable. I can't understand why the world can't make more of it.

Ann, so grateful that the biopsy was not the worst news but a relatively tolerable form. That would make me nervous but as the saying goes "don't invite trouble". Hard to think of any cancer as a good kind but its all in the point of view. Sounds like you and your DH live a very full life and thats the main thing and I think healing in itself. Nameste.

Eggs and canadian bacon last night. Fast becoming a favorite and super easy meal.

Shel don't look for me to get up exercising early. Not in my DNA. I used to walk late at night after dark to avoid heat. Now I am too wimpy but know I need to move it or lose it.

Again Liz, happy birthday Elise.

Just got a new iPhone. But I don't have the case. Gotta be real careful with it as I drop the old one all the time. got the 8 plus. old one is a 5. really don't think i need the new but dh thinks its a fun toy.

later. diane s
