People criticized me for wanting this surgery. They told me I should just eat less and exercise more and I would lose the weight. They told me being 60 lbs overweight doesn't justify surgery. But here's the thing. My Dad died at 73 from a heart attack. My mother's side of the family don't live past 65. Heart disease, diabetes and cancer are prevalent in our family. I have repeatedly tried to lose weight on my own. I'm 49 and I'd like to beat the stats. That's why my nickname is freedom fifty. That's a little about me. My surgery is in one month. I'm hoping and praying for the best.
