Dr. Visit for VSG

So, I went yesterday and spoke with Dr. Hausmann about VSG and told him that due to my migraines that VSG would be better that gastric in my opinion because of the mal-absorption issue with my meds. He agreed, but still advised me of the risk with VSG. I felt happy that I had taken a step towards the right direction. He said that he will write a letter along with my submission to the insurance company to try to get VSG approved for me. He said that he has covered some of his patients in the past. We just have to wait and see. To me that means PRAY, PRAY,PRAY that it is approved, because I cannot afford to be a cash pay.So after the consult, his assistant came in and gave me the list of pre-ops that need to be done prior to surgery. Was kinda caught off guard when I had to do labs, EKG, and chest X-Ray right after the appointment. She said that I have to get all of this done also, upper GI, nutritional visit, and psych eval before it is submitted for approval? Kinda backwards I thought. But if it will help me get approved, I am all for it.
So I am asking for everyone's prayers that UHC approves my VSG request!
