Time to give you an update...

Apr 16, 2009

I am writing this now because i want to be able to look back and know that what i went through was worth it, I am also writing this to help people in the same position as me. I am 5 weeks post op...I lost 23lbs the first 3 weeks, i have gained 3 lbs since 4/4/09. I am on the soft solid stage and i have to admit I am starving. I even ate a brownie the day after Easter. Not at all like me cuz I'm not into sweets or pastries. I have been eating A LOT of chicken salad, Tuna salad, cottage cheese, cheese, beef jerky, protein shakes, baked beans. That's pretty much it. I am totally staying away from carbs and I'm still not losing, i also joined a gym that has a POOL!! So I'm excited. I have to admit i am extremely surprised that i have gained 3lbs but I'm hoping its water weight(wishful thinking eh) lol. I move onto full solids on 4/27/09. So I'm hoping that i will stay fuller longer. I'm seriously trying, i have not cheated(except for my brownie) since i went in for surgery on 3/17/09. My parents don't seem to understand how i am gaining weight either. I'm not eating cookies, chips, crackers, bread, pasta, sweets. Its just not making sense. Well i go in for my first fill on 5/8/09 (Hopefully i will actually get one or i will throw a complete hissy fit) I did not have this surgery to live exactly the same as i was living pre band. I'm not having doubts but i am determined that i will lose 130lbs by my bandadversary. With or without my surgeons help. If i have to pay out of pocket to go to another surgeon then so be it, I'm not looking for a quick fix i am just looking for some help. Well now that i have vented, I'm going to go home and go to bed cus i have a cold. TTYL
