My story......wow, it's not really a short one, but I'll try to make it short.

I've always been a big girl (size 28) my whole life, pretty much. I honestly was comfy, and I didn't get teased in school, I had/have a great group of friends, so I never considered getting WLS. By the time, I was 28 tho, things were about to change for the wrost. I was at home alone one day, when I threw out my back (emptying the dishwasher of all things!) and I couldn't move. Pain meds, nothing would help. I ended up in the ER. Well, turns out I had a couple of things wrong with my back, I have Degenerate Disc Disease and Spinal Stenosis. Only one thing could be done....emergency surgery. Well, I had surgery within a week, and then I had another within a week of that one, because I had gotten a stapf infection. So lovely. Needless to say, these surgeries and everything that happened after, made me unable to work, or do much around the house. So, I fought for disablity. Fast forward two years later, and I finally won my case, and was ready for WLS. Since it was a choice of 4 more back surgeries or WLS. During those two years, I had gained over 130 lbs. I gained a whole person, not being able to be active, like I was before. My highest weight was right before surgery....387. NEVER AGAIN! I am now 319, and it's been 6 weeks since surgery. I can fit into my clothes from two years ago, and that milestone makes me happy. I'm glad that there are others out there, who are willing to share their journey with me, as well as let me share mine.
