My story is pretty similar to all of yours. I have always been "big", but athletic and very strong. The older I get, the more my strength dissipates and the more my fat appears! Athletics are much more difficult to perform and I really just hurt all the time. I try to follow the advice I give to all my patients, but get discouraged when it NEVER works for me!

Had baby number 5 in my late 30's and along came gestational diabetes and PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension) that I was told "would all go away" with the delivery of the baby. Well.....neither did, and along with that came high TG's and a ton of weight from working night shifts.

So, while wallowing in my own muck, I found an article in our local paper spouting the success of a recent DS patient who lives out here in the boonies too, and decided to check it out! Of course after several hundred hours of Internet research, reading all your posts, and finding out that my awesome hospital insurance does not cover WLS.....I am headed to Mexico & Dr. A and quiet frankly, I can't wait!

Keep me posted on all the Dr. A successes!!! I need to hear from you all!
