over a year out 2 more lbs and I will have lost 100lbs

Jun 01, 2015

I feel more accepted/ included at social events I don't feel pressured or overwhelmed by food, which now I can eat and tolerate almost anything I can do medium spicy, hot, cold, so that's nice but sweets I don't care for anymore if it is too sweet and rich it doesn't taste good in my mouth and causes me to dash towards the ladies room. A year out I can certainly eat more than 3 spoonfuls of jello, now a sandwich like a regular size  like when you buy sliced white or wheat bread at the store or one veggie burger on a bun I feel full just before the last two bites but usually finish it anyhow really slowly.

In 11 more pounds I will Have lost 100lbs In Less Than A Year

Oct 20, 2014

I feel like I've started a whole new life I've noticed big changes in my body but it is still hard for me to see it when I look in the mirror, I know that's crazy but that's not to say I don't notice it away from the mirror the scale says 145.6 today and on March 3, 2014 I was 235lbs. So  even with my math skills as bad as they may be I can still do simple subtraction and know that is a huge feat. 8 months new job, new body, new apartment I feel so overwhelmed: excited, nervous, anxious, emotional roller coaster is probably the best descriptor I need a new look I need better spanx ...lol I'm a little saggy ehhh.... what now?

Alot of Life Changes All At Once

Sep 18, 2014

Wow, what can say in the past 3-4 weeks I got a new job unexpectedly and moved right after, I'm a "normal range" BMI but need to lose more to be healthy by hip to waist ratio I'm pear shaped. All I can say is wow I've lost 82lbs in 7 months that in and of its self is like what?! I haven't noticed any crazy changes about two months ago I did start to experience the dreaded hair shedding overload that continues more on some days less on others ehh... o well, not noticeable yet so not freaking out too bad just seeing it all over the floor and tub is gross. I have super long thick hair well no its still long "normal thickness" hair? Anyhow I had 5 mins of free time and thought I should update as a record for myself  and for whoever else reads my posts which I don't think is many but as a community I like to show support and post my progress.

Overweight no more!!!

Aug 14, 2014

As of today during my naked morning weigh in I pushed the scale to 159.2 and according to the bmi calculator that puts me into the "normal" @ 24.9 BMI range for my height and weight! OMG I can't believe it I have always been in the overweight category my whole life and now at least by this index I'm good...lol Now all I need is for the waist to hip ratio index to also say I'm healthy I'll be straight up when I say I've never experienced the luxury even as an obese woman of having glorious breasts  I guess I could describe myself as pear shaped except I never had much going on for a tushy either. I carry the majority of my waist in my abdominal region and hips which I guess is dangerous or puts me at risk still ehhh.... I'll work on it. My overall goal is 140-143 so I'm hoping when I reach that goal, I'm guessing but not certain that my waist to hip ratio will be on target as "healthy." Anyhow keep up the work and stick your plans VSG'ers!!! There will be stalls there will be moments of weakness but this is about reaching goals and getting healthy and with time and patience I'm confident it will happen. :)

Normal BMI here I Come

Aug 08, 2014

only 4.6 lbs left to go and I enter into the healthy  BMI range for my height so I look forward to that its exciting to think I won't be overweight or obese anymore which I have been since I was a toddler. But another note to self after staving off all kinds of alcohol until this week which made it 6months post op, man my new motto is "one and done."  I had two drinks and I was sick I felt so nauseated it but a hamper on my girls night out but still great fun. I don't feel the need to drink I can handle one glass of wine well but truthfully I get more pleasure from my starbucks and tea...lol no ill symptoms there. anyhow just touching base.

It's coming off slower than I'd like but its still going down

Jul 28, 2014

My weight loss has slowed from awesome losses over the previous months. Yet last month I lost about 10lbs and this month about 6lbs granted there are still a few days left for that number to go up but its not like the prior months where I lost between 12-15lbs. I will not reach my BMI goal by the end of this month I would need to lose 7 more pounds to reach that goal and obtain a healthy "normal" BMI. My overall goal is to lose a 25 more lbs and secure an "normal" BMI with wiggle room like a BMI of 23 would be very satisfactory. Now time for frustration ranting; this month has been exhausting and maybe its because of my cycle that I feel irritable along with my seasonal allergies going bezerk I just uggghhh.... I dunno I had this goal of turning 25 and not being overweight my birthday is on the 8/2 so it is what is... and I do feel VSG has been great for me and I know I will lose more in time I mean losing close to 70lbs in less than 6 month is amazing and I feel proud of that I just well Im glad I got that rant out because that did help a little.... Who ever reads my personal probably thinks I'm crazy ehhh o well.

Fainting

Jul 24, 2014

This is the first time in many years I've fainted and actually blacked out for luckily only a few seconds from what I was told and it happened at work while I was dispensing some previcid for a customer. I keep going over in my mind how this could have happened I certainly didn't overexert myself this morning I was hydrated not overheated I was a little tired but nothing unusual for 7am I had eaten a granola bar I didn't feel hungry.  Does this or has this happened to any of you? If so was is low blood sugar, or mineral/ vitamin deficiency? I am greatly concerned not just because of the fainting but not knowing the cause. Is this one of those situations you eat a sugary treat and drink gatorade by the gallon or something else entirely I've been feeling pretty good lately more energy less stressed naturally I realize the best solution would be to see a doctor I did see a nurse physician but he just said its low blood sugar and told me to eat. Any personal experiences and advice would be wonderful to hear.

new addictions

Jul 16, 2014

I'm addicted to starbucks skinny mochas as well as their protein box and cheese and crackers box mmm healthy options in a small post wls way they are wonderful lunch/ breakfast alternatives that dont leave you feeling overwhelmed, its filled with perfectly portioned cheese slices and 3-4 apple slices and 4 whole grain crackers and a hard boiled egg it varies but the boxes are great. Also love chipoltle crunchy chicken tacos usually served as 3 tacos but you can order one instead of three and its like $2.25 and sooo good sooo much flavor mmm but when i eat these  its never slow and steady i tend to eat it faster than i should leaving maybe a bite leftover and feeling a quick bout of heart burn that goes away in less than 5. I need to exert more caution but most days i have shakes and soup still knowing my past problems with food i feel wary of these "new addictions"  I dunno we'll see. today I'm at 166lbs

Finally hit 169!

Jul 09, 2014

Wow that was the longest weight loss stall I've had since I've started but I finally got another lb down. I've also had a few good bm's these past few days and I think that had alot to do with stall as well. I hope this progress continues in the right direction and I see what other more experience sleevers mean when they talk about stubborn stalls.

New monthly goal set.

Jul 02, 2014

This monthly goal is to hit 160 by August 2, 2014 aka my b-day it would be so wonderful to reach this goal and I think as a birthday present to myself that makes me really motivated starting today I need to lose 11lbs for this month so I think what I will do is go back to writing down my calories and upping my exercise and protein.
