monthly goal missed by 1.8 lbs :(

Jul 01, 2014

I did not reach my self imposed goal this month and it is the fist goal I set  here and missed but I don't feel defeated I feel like I didn't work at it which truthfully this month I didn't. I didn't go out and gorge on food but I don't work out and maybe that is something I need to incorporate up until now its been diet only I've also been noticing I'm not having regular bm this month at first the coffee was working great I'm not a coffee person but wanted a painless natural remedy to help *ehem*  my digestive system and it worked really well now I have a coffee every other day the skinny mocha from starbucks mmmm but now I have my period and the first day I was super regular and today at the end of my cycle its been 2 days since bm?  I think today I will proceed as usual and tomorrow just do protein shakes coffee soup and tea and see if there is a change before reaching for the medicine at my pharmacy....I'll keep you all updated

Things I love eating now

Jun 14, 2014

-Amy's organic vegetarian chili medium spicy- serving size 1 cup = 280 cal, 16g protein, 35g carbohydrate, 9 g total fat. (I love the texture and flavor I pour out half and ziplock the remaining, if I eat this though I have to be carb conscientious the rest of my meals.)

-cambells go soups "Moroccan style chicken w/ chickpeas"- serv 1 cup =160 cal, 13g protein, 23g carbohydrate, total fat 1.5 g ( its yummy good texture and some spice)

-Almost any hot tea that hasn't changed

-Skinny cafe mocha tall starbucks- 110 cal (its mostly a hot cup of steamed skim milk with mocha flavor so there is protein and its an 8oz serving so when I get it, I treat it like a yummy satisfying treat w/o too much guilt)

-baybell cheddar cheese wheels- cal 75, 4 g protein

-skinny fit popcorn- cal 30 per cup

- chicken noodle soup- I mostly sip on the broth the noodles I was never big on anyhow but its always soothing its my new comfort food on days I dont feel to well and what i usually have for lunch on work days

-fried chicken- cal ? protein? its delicious and only a 2x's a month treat since i'm sure its not the healthiest thing luckily I can only have a few bites and I'm done.

Pretty pleased

Jun 11, 2014

I can fit into a size 12 jeans comfortably with room from express and a tight size 11 junior's pant/skinny jean from macy's the macy's pair was super tight and gave me horrible muffin top lol... but I could still button and zip and the the express pair was just right but I still don't like how I look in jeans. All my weight bulges at my hips and tummy but since I've got height I'm hoping it will look better I know it will I just don't see it yet. Any ways I was excited because even though I didn't buy anything I know now I can shop in "regular" stores instead of plus size so that was cool 12 is the largest size pant/jean at express and My husband loves shopping there so it was just cool to walk into a fitting room and feel like I can shop there too when before I was only able to get certain tops from that store so that sums up my day.

slipping off the wagon and scooching back up

Jun 10, 2014

I haven't checked in this past week and a half its been crazy busy... first off I use this forum as kind of a journey diary and as a means to hold myself accountable and cut my personal bs. For the past 4 days I have been eating way more than I should. In my previous lifestyle pre wls my husband and I were foodies and kind of snobish foodies lol and we entertained a fellow foodie friend who was visiting for a few days and so well I've kept my wls surgery on the DL. only like 5-6 people know I had it done and its not that I'm ashamed of doing the best thing for me which was wls but I don't feel like explaining it to every person and then getting their personal opinions on my choice. so anyhow I just basically ordered small meals ate about 1/2 and put the rest in a take a way box...and he said wow your looking slimmer and I was like I just do that diet where you eat a few small meals throughout the day and he was like ya that makes sense...The problem is this week I've indulged in sweets and did not always put protein first and as we know thats a big no no, so I'm guilty I weighed myself at 177.8 so this time as a punishment I'm rounding up to 178. Another thing I've noticed is I get ck defensive when people compliment me by saying I've lost weight, which is nuts because I know its positive feedback but for some reason it feels back handed to me like wow you were fat before and now you've lost some weight, which is true and hard to say "I am fat I was obese now I am overweight," I guess there is mental conditioning with this process as well. So back to my diet protein shake in the morning soup for lunch and a protein dense dinner which for me is some type of chicken...lol

Staying on track

May 30, 2014

I reached my month goal to lose 10lbs and get to 183 and since I hit it about 2 weeks in advance I said lets do a mini goal for the remaining 2 weeks to get  to 179 lbs on 6/1 today is 5/30 and I'm 180.2 lbs naked weigh in so I'm very close and if I reach it by 6/1 awesome and if not that's ok too :) I haven't been in my 180-70's since like 6th grade so I'm still thrilled that at some point within June I'll be in the 170's. who knows I might even reach into the 160's by the end of that month I really can't believe that on 6/5/14 it will only have been 3 whole months since my surgery and that means I've lost 53lbs so far with 40lbs left to go to reach my goal...I love this forum and the people who write on it really help to keep me on track and inspire me to push through. yesterday I got a little cocky and ate some fried chicken a little too fast and felt a case of "slimmies" and heartburn coming on which lasted less then 5 min but signaled me to "check yourself, before you wreck yourself." So that was my first case of uncomfortableness  of the month. I've found I can graze on blueberries like no tomorrow but I dont keep any junk food in the house so I dunno if this is good or bad blueberries are at least chock full of anti-oxidants and super low cal and keep me "regular" if you know what I mean ;)... but I finished 1/2 a pint in one day sooooo that means I need to go back to measuring before consumption. Otherwise on protein and denser food like yogurt or oatmeal about 1/2 cup or a little less than 1 cup is as far as I can go. Has anyone else found foods that they graze on?

Olive Garden

May 26, 2014

FYI olive garden now serves small plates kind of like tapas now sooo good and inexpensive I had the chicken spediede which is grilled chicken on 2 skewers and olive fritatas mmmm and its separate from the appetizers and the perfect size plates for someone like me who has had vsg. Anyhow I wanted to share that since some people myself especially was bummed about eating out the past few months so this was a nice pick me up for normalcy. Its like the Spanish concept of tapas which is small plates of food instead of a dinner plate heaping w/ pasta...lol

Food reviews

May 24, 2014

Things that I find satisfying in mushie phase

1. Hot tea

2. Fage 0% fat greek yogurt

3. Gerbers 2nd stage foods Chicken Orzo rice (w/ a pinch of salt and pepper) microwaved in 10 sec intervals for 30sec note: most of the baby food  tastes gross I know because I tried them yuck but this one has flavor and texture is not too unpleasing.

4. sugar free jello

5. carbmaster: yogurts and milk ( this is a line from kroger's grocery store ) love love love it

6. Cambell's chicken and stars soup to go. (its a nice alternative at work for a meal/ snack i would eat the super super tiny chicken bits and sip the broth the star noodles i strained out or just avoided but those went down smoothly too).

7. Premier protein shakes

8. low fat small curd cottage cheese
