5/20/14 GOAL 2 REACHED @ 182.6LBS 17 DAYS IN ADVANCE SO SURPRISED I HAVE OFFICIALLY LOST A LITTLE OVER 50 LBS SINCE 3/5/14!!!! GOAL # 3 SHORT SHORT TERM GOAL TO GET TO 179 BY 6/1/14 AND START ANOTHER MONTH LONG GOAL!

The least I've weighed since I was 12

Today I'm at 186 lbs 3lbs away from goal #2 which was to lose 10 lbs by 6/5/14. I feel very confident I will reach that goal and when I do that will mean I have lost 50lbs....so almost there! that to me is definitely a milestone and it will also mean that I lost more than 50% of the weight I needed to lose. Bad news I have a wicked sinus infection and am taking 4 diff medications but even that can't kill my excitement so worth it! Would I do VSG again absolutely but its important to remember this is a wl tool and not a magic wand. :) :) :)

what does a weight look like?

I think alot of us dream of what we look like at the end of our wls journey. I know I do all the time I think what will I look like -20lbs or at my goal weight that I set at 140. What does a 5'8 140 lb person look like in terms of shape or any height and weight for that matter and I found this website: www.cockeyed.com/photos/bodies/505-140.html  I like this site its people regular, non dolled up people who have posted pics of themselves at certain heights and weight and it gives you a great idea of what certain bmi 's look like, Its cool to see the variations in shapes and sizes that are as equally beautiful as the ones in magazines. Some women look even better at a higher weight so its neat to see the variations and get an idea of what I am aiming for apart from improved health which is always number 1 importance.

Its official 2 Months Out!

Two months out and I've lost a total of 43 lbs since surgery sooooo excited to say @ my naked weigh in Im at 190 lbs. I'm in onederland!!! Even more exciting when I think I haven't been under 170lbs since I was 12 yrs old and soon that will become a possibility again soo cool. My bad cholesterol is low which is good but my good cholesterol is low too, and thats bad... :( should I take fish oil supplements,  I don't know if I mentioned this earlier but I can't handle eating fish well just yet I don't know why it just doesn't agree w/ me otherwise I would eat some salmon and I know after the surgery we digest and absorb nutrients differently than before so any  suggestions?

goal #1 reached!!!!!

Today during my naked weigh in I reached my 2 month month 40 lb goal 6 days in advance!!!! so excited I feel really positive today yeah; but I know generally after the 2 month point things slow further down with weight loss so now I'm going to set a new goal assuming/ hoping I lose 2lbs a week from now on. Today is 4/29/2014 I'm at 193lbs I will start new goal on 5/1 aim to reach goal 2 on 5/31 and will set that goal for 10 lbs. Its a steep goal but I think reasonable. What do you others with vsg do? Do you set monthly or weekly goals to you plan little treats like cloths shopping or spa days for incentive? I'd like to know so drop a line or two. Everyday has its struggles but I have no regrets about about this choice.

Today I ate "normal."

"normal" being a relative word here...lol today almost 2 months in I had a 3inch tuna sub w/ most of the bread picked off until it was more like 1/2 a sandwich and no adverse reactions granted it took my whole lunch break to nibble it away but it was my first non-soup work lunch. Its just nice to feel a different texture in my mouth. Sometimes when I eat i feel exhausted, I wonder if anyone else feels/ felt  that way but today I felt good I had extra energy....probably a silly thing to share but I get excited lately when I can try different high protein healthy food.

Thankyou Kroger's

Ok, so I guess I'm going blog/ post crazy tonight but I feel the need to share because I found some great products that are only carried by Kroger's and I'm guessing their sister stores whatever those maybe in different states. First as someone w/ vsg our diets are protein first and generally low carb, low cal, low sugar and I've shopped around mostly gnc and vitamin shoppe to get my shake and essentials that was stupid. I found this low cal low carb protein shake 30 grams of protein called "premier Protein." Also they have this line called "carbsmart,"  I get the carbsmart milk 80 cal 11grams of protein, and the carbsmart yogurt is good too when you want to eat something soothing but want variety in flavor. The above mentioned is all their store brand diet stuff wonderful I can't believe I didn't shop their before when I was going to HEB and Randall's . Kroger's is so far the only grocery store that has the largest selection of vsg friendly food I have found. I also get the 0% Fage yogurt there as well super high in protein 23grams for 1 cup serving, but fage you can get at any grocery store its a nice greek yogurt.

weight and the +/- 3lb rule

This morning without thinking I weighed myself in the nude... and got excited because that means I'm in "Onederland" at 198lbs. Now normally I weigh myself in my pj's in morning when I wake up and into my 4th week I noticed I wasn't losing a lb a day or every other day but every 3 days so when I went from 200 the day prior to 198 i thought wow what did I do to lose 2lbs in a day and the the answer of course was to wear my bday suit...lol thats why when you are weighed at the doctor's office prior to exams and checkups on some forms there is a +/- 3 next to one's weight because most people are wearing cloths when weighed . Probably a silly thing to get excited about, but I think from now on I might weigh myself  in the nude before my shower. TMI? eh
