5 days post-op
Oct 19, 2014
I am 5 days post op, doing well as for fluids, give or take, trying to get my walking in doing my spirometer.. what I am really dealing with is a pain, mostly stabbing then lingering..with about a 3 inch radius around the incision, on my left side where I believe a drain was that they removed right before I left the hospital. I was told that my doctor only put this type of drain tube in if you have a bypass, I do not remember it when I had my vertical sleeve...the pain can be debilitating, when it hits it hurts so bad that it brings me to tears. It is affects how I take my short walks, how I am able to stand up or sit down, go to the bathroom, wipe... I prayed to God it goes away. It is the main thing I'm dealing with now post op, for the most part I've been fairly comfortable with my fluids etc according to my scales I've lost almost 10 pounds since surgery! They have me on oxycodone 5 mg tabs, I take 2 every 4 hours it takes awhile for it to kick in but it does not last long at all... I am curious if anyone else is dealing with this. Also dealing with wonderful constipation TMI. But a lot of rumbling gas but not all of it being release.. i am amazed at just sitting on the pot how many muscles are used to go potty and it hurts to fart lol. I am praying for relief of not just the gas but the pain, asap! If anybody else is dealing with the side pain from the drain I think it was or had dealt with it..can you let me know? thank you.

Revision surgery rescheduled....
Oct 05, 2014
Due to surgeon being out of town this next week, my surgery was rescheduled for October 14th. Pre-op on the 13th. I need to be at the hospital at 5:30 a.m Tuesday morning.
Revision surgery scheduled!
Sep 15, 2014
After several months I finally got my iron deficiency anemia stabilized! After female stuff including a D&C... I did find out that I have pre-cancerous cells-- simple hyperplasia without atypia. So I will be starting a hormone therapy.
But.... I got the call from my surgeons office... I am scheduled for my revision October 7th!!! YAY!
~~ On a sad note... My mom went in august 13th for surgery to remove a pancoast tumor from her upper right lung. Surgery went very well.. she was doing good, set to come home about a week after the surgery... then.. something happened... breathing, sick, afib, they put in a breathing tube, tube fed her... she went down hill :( They had her heavily sedated for agitation purposes.. took out the tube and tried her on her own.... wasn't happening.. so they re-intubated her... but, unbeknownst to us... several days later they took her off the sedation and she was not responding... sunday morning, august 31st they gave her a catscan and realized she had a massive stroke..(they believe happened during the time of re-intubation) it destroyed both sides of her brain.. only thing left functioning was the brain stem which was controlling her breathing... we (my brother, sister and I) made the hardest decision of our lives and decided to take her off the vent and feeding tube.. put her in hospice and at 6:01 that evening my mom passed away.. joining my father... (who passed away October 29, 2012)
Getting the revision was a promise that I made both my parents.. I plan on keeping my promise of becoming healthier!!
surgery was cancelled :'(

Due to extremely low iron... I have to make a call tomorrow and see if I can see an OB doctor... to see if my periods are the reason.. SO INCREDIBLY bummed!

youtube...
Apr 29, 2014
Thought that I would post my youtube channel if anyone wanted to follow my journey there. I am almost 2 years out from the sleeve, with a hiatal hernia, GERD, irritated stretched top of my sleeve, esophagitis and I gained most of my weight back. I am now in the process of getting a revision to bypass. Just waiting on the insurance to approve. If you had this revision.. let me know, I have searched youtube and can only find only a handful of people that have channels.
almost 6 weeks post-op
Aug 05, 2012
Ok.... stopped and re-read what I wrote and 24 lbs... divided by 6 weeks is an average of 4 lbs a week.. which is... GOOD... it would be hard to do that without surgery. I need to think more positively on this.. just have FAITH
omg the day is here!!
Jun 26, 2012
My surgery was set for 12:30 and had to be there about 8:30... but, got pushed up now it is scheduled for 3:00 and I have to be there by 11:30 due to the fact that I guess my surgeon runs ahead of time.
So about 2 hours til I have to be there... just gonna relax and take advantage of the super cold air conditioned motel room I am dreading going outside!
