It has been a week since I have started doing this on my own. I am doing a 1400 calorie diet.. I am just getting under that each day. I never really feel deprived. I am eating pretty good.. healthy, no sweets or junk food, getting almost 70 oz of water in.. which is amazing for me because I normally dont drink water. I try to get in about 30 minutes of some kind of movement/excercise a day, free weights, I have one of those bike pedals as well as just walking in place, etc. Just some kind of movement. I weighed myself this morning... I lost 8 pounds! That is 1 pound more than I lost my first week at weight watchers the end of '06. I was shocked then for losing 7 lbs in one week! I pray that I can keep this up!

Well, I cancelled my surgery... There is absolutely no way to come up with 25 grand! My mom and my sister are going to help me lose weight on my own. I am scared to go on my own.. yet...I was able to quit smoking in some extremely stressful times... I have a lil more will power than I took myself for granted. I know that God brought me this far, I have faith and trust in Him. I will do this.. I HAVE TO! I have the most beautiful 2 year old boy that needs his MOMMY!!!!! I plan to put money aside each month as if I was making a payment.. and possibly use it to get my panni removed.. or whatever. I still plan to come on here and update how I am doing. I love the support and awesome friends that I have made on here!

I AM APPROVED!!
So that is the good news...
now the bad news...
I have to pay the hospital UPFRONT for the surgery! Which is a HELLUVA lot!!! Lets put it this way... my insurance caps off at 7500!! I havent met my 1500 deductable yet for this year. So.. now we have to scramble to come up with loans or ways to come up with the money before october 5th!!
Prayers would be greatly appreciated!!!!
HE brought me this far... fighting the battle with my dr's office getting all the needed things in.. took several months!! HE will find a way!
Oh.. and today marks 3 weeks smoke free..
eta: that should read.. the insurance caps off at 7500 for bariatric surgery.

Well... after several calls to my surgeons office.. and to my care manager at my insurance.. Leaving messages after messages, getting inpatient.. I finally get a call from my insurance.. it was a nurse, she was letting me know that my care managers phone system is all messed up, that she did receive all the faxes.. and that it appears that it was everything that she needed, she will have to open up a new request, but, probably not til tomorrow. sooooooo Hopefully I will find out tomorrow if my insurance approved. My poor patience is running out.
Been wanting ciggs... ESPECIALLY today! ahhhHHHH! but, I am proud to say that tomorrow will be 3 weeks smoke free

Well... I talked to the care manager from my insurance. She told me that she received the faxes but she has not had time to look at them and probably wont before she gets off for the day.. so she said that she will put it on my original care managers desk so she can look at them first thing monday morning. This is going to be a LONGGGGG weekend!

So.. confusing!! ahhhhHHHH! I did talk to the office manager at the family care clinic here and she said that my Doctor turned in an adendum! She had been trying to fax them and they werent going through! Wrong fax number! WTHeck?
So she called my insurance and got ahold of a different care manager since mine was off today, got her fax to send them to her directly, so I called my insurance and talked to this care manager. She was still waiting on the fax to come through. Since the "request" expired today for my care manager... I think this one might take it over ... she said she could look at it see if she can take care of it or have it sent to her medical director.. I asked, if went by those "scenarios" if she could open up a new request.. what are we looking at for time for approval if it was everything that they required? She said that if she approves it... it could be just a few hours! If she had to turn it over to her medical director it could take about a week. wow! That is cutting it close!
So.. in the next .... hour to hour and a half, I am going to call her back... make sure she received everything that was needed.

It is 2 weeks til October 8th. I should be excited! But,... I'm not. My insurance called me today.. They still (after about 4 months) have not received all the information they need from my doctor to qualify me! This has been a serious on-going battle! The last piece of info they needed was that my doctor 'medically cleared me for surgery'. He has not written that down.. what he wrote down was that he thinks I am a good candidate for the gastric bypass. My doctor had all the information that my insurance needed from day one!!! I guess that tomorrow my insurance is 'voiding the request'. I have an appointment for monday to see my doctor and I will go in there and ask him... WTH??? and stand next to him as he faxes it to my insurance!!! If he does not do this.. my insurance will not qualify me!
I am 2 and a half weeks out of not smoking... MAN do I need one now!! :(
I have been off and on crying for these last several days... I NEED this surgery!!!!

WOW, it is exactly one month til my surgery! 
I am so nervously excited!!
~Today was the visit to my NUT and my psych eval. Added some extra papers to my book. Lots of informative things on diet afterwards etc. It was the Psych eval that I was shocked about! I always tend to make mountains of of mole hills! It went really well!! I just had to answer some true/false questions that had to do with my weight and my emotional state and self image. Then I talked to the the psychologist. I really liked him! He made me feel real comfortable. He asked about my diet history.. and why diet fads dont work! He then went over my true/false questions and then let me know that I passed and that he had no worries that I may have any mental issues following the surgery!
So... onward I go..counting down the days to a NEW release on life!!!! YAY!!!!
oh! forgot to add that I chopped my hair!! Took at least 8 inches off!! It will take some getting used to, but, I do like it!!

ahhhh 1 month.. and 2 days away. I remember when I was pregnant with my son.. I made a chain, like the ones you make at Christmas time with construction paper cut into strips and pasted together into a chain. The chains for my pregnancy were done in weeks, the last one was 38 weeks.. I still have that hanging on the wall. Being pregnant was absolutely incredible and special to me! I thought I would make a chain to mark off the days til surgery. Like a child waiting for Christmas!
Waiting... nervously.. scared.. and yet so EXCITED!! I keep looking at the before and after pictures. I am obsessed with them! I look at the strangers in those pictures with AWE! It is amazing how much they changed! If it wasnt for a smile or expression... some you wouldnt recognize at all! I think to myself... will that truly be me some day?? Will there ever be someone looking at my before and after picture in awe? Think to themselves... I hope that I look that good!

I had to add my greatest inspiration to my background!!! My pride.. my joy... a special gift from God! Aside from my many reasons to lose weight... he is right up there on top! I can look at that precious face and know that for every lb that I lose.. the longer I will be here on this earth with him! I refuse to have my son go without a mommy!!!!
