I got the call today!

I received the call today and the insurance approved the surgery. I will have my surgery on Monday, April 6th. No Easter candy for me! I'm telling you, someone is putting a Cadbury creme egg in the freezer for me to enjoy on my bday!
Every single emotion I can think of is going thru me. I'm happy, overjoyed, nervous, worried, you name it. I keep saying this is going to be tougher than starting chemo. Say a prayer that I survive the two weeks of liquids even before the surgery.
Preops are on Friday, meet with Doc on Monday and surgery the following Monday! Yipee!

Being a cancer survivor, I know the "hurry up and wait" game. But waiting for the insurance company to give the go ahead is about to drive me crazy! I just want them to get back to us so I can move forward with things. I feel like I'm in a holding pattern and I don't quite like it at all!

Finally had my first consultation!

I met with Dr. Richardson on Monday, February 23rd. He was very positive and indicated that all systems are go. Now we just wait for the insurance to give us the green light! I'm very excited to move forward. I also met with the dietician and she was very positive and gave me the breakdown of the week before and the weeks after plus recommendation from the dr. Lucky for them I'm the child of a diabetic and I've only ever had sugar free jello and it's my favorite! So we play the waiting game for now! Hoping for a March surgery date!
