Well...my story huh?...Lets start with the fact that I am 45 years old...I am married and have 4 great children. My eldest Steve is a UCLA grad and is a terminal manager for Hanjin shipping company, my daughter Jessica is a student at Point Loma Nazarene University where she plays softball...I have a son named Richie who is going to be 18 soon and he is on his way to becoming a pro skateboarder...and my youngest Tj, he is 12 and in middle school...I have not had a problem with my weight until after my last child...for some reason I just couldnt lose any weight after having him, actually I gained more weight...
I had my lapband surgery on December 23, 2008. I had been trying for 5 years to get this procedure done...I would go to a Doctor, have my consultation and then...NOTHING....I dont know why nothing was ever done as I have excellent insurence that totally covers WLS....I kind of got fed up after going to 5 doctors. I figured that maybe I wasnt supposed to get this surgery....I totally gave up....So...2008 started out really bad....then I found some stuff I was totally unhappy with...I was so down and bummed...I was driving on the freeway and saw a billboard for TopSurgeons WLS...I thought maybe one more time...That same day my husband came home and said he heard an advertisement on the radio for this place to get lapband...turned out to be the same place...I figured I should call...I had my first appointment with them on Septemeber 6, 2008. I had already gone to a dietician for 6 months and I was on the road to LapBand...Yay....I did everything pretty quick and now I am banded...I have a friend from a Journey website who also got banded...So it seems that everything came together for me at the right time, my friend from the Journey website has given me so much help it is unreal...Thanks Chrissy...The doctors at 1-800 GETSLIM are all great...They made sure every doctor that I needed to see (Physchologist, dietician, phychiatrist, pediotrist, general surgeon, WL surgeon, and plastic surgeon) were all there for me to starting on that day....
