I met with Dr. Gregory Schroder 7/24/02. He was great. Short, staight and to the point. He said that I would be a good candidate for the gastric bypass surgery, and would send a letter to my ins. company. The nurses were nice. Just make sure that you have questions written down before you go in. My head went blank when he asked me if I had any questions. He was honest about the risks. He also performed the gastric bypass on my mother 7 years ago!
My first impression of him was he was very well organized he has this down to a science. i was so impressed. First when I got the office the staff was very well organized, while I sat down and filled out paperwork one woman came and asked me a couple of questions then she went back and typed up a form for me to fill. Afterwords they helped to make sure insurance was approved and had me pay up front. It was a very efficiently run office. You could tell they where very busy however they where still very nice and considerant. Me and my husband arrived about 30 minutes before time which was good because my doctor had not faxed a complete copy of records so i called and got them to fax while i was there and they did. My appointment time was for 1030 and at 1035 I was taken back and weighed. then we watched the video with one other patient and her son. Then I met the doctor. The doctor was upfront about side effects but also about benefits. he said if this was something I wanted to do, they would send information off for approval. Once approved they would set up surgery 3 wks from that date and during that 3 wks I would have pre op test and attend 3 classes, one for nutrion, one for nursing and another for behavior changes. The nurse Debbie was impressed with the amount of information i had ready for them. So so far so good I am excited and am on my way. I just hope that I can write as good as review about my insurance shortly We will see
Dr. Schroder was great. He is such a kind man. He explained in detail every step of the surgery to me during my consultaion with him. Further he required me to attend classes on nutrition and behavior modification. He incourages the support group also. I really cant say enough good things about him. He has a great bedside manner and makes you feel comfortable. His staff is great. I love his nurse Debbie. She is very helpful and caring.I am so glad I found Dr. Schroder and would highly recommend him to anyone considering the surgery.
After just one appointment with Dr. Schroder, I was impressed with his professional manner. I was able to get an appointment for the first consultation in just 2 weeks. I was called promptly, after just a short time in the waiting room. His office nurse, Debbie, was well organized. After seeing a video, accompanied by two of my duaghters, he saw all of us. He explained the surgery. its risks and answered all of our questions. Dr. Schroder has a very positive outlook on how WLS can improve health problems, despite its small risk. Now it is just a matter of waiting for approval from my insurance company who claim only 10 - 14 business days for approval after all of the documentation is received. So far, I would rate him as very good; will know more after the surgery, of course.
Dr schroder and his staff were very friendly and eager to help. Dr Schroder, himself, spoke to me in a way that i could understand and was very patient with me. I asked him a lot of questions and he responded with sincerity and thoughtfulness. I am eagerly awaiting my insurance approval.
I met Dr Schroder's Nurse, Debbie. She weighed and interviewed me and then I watched a video. Then I met with Dr. Schroder. He was very personable. He brought out his diagram of what the procedure entails and said "ok here is what we are doing to your plumbing". Excellent bedside manor. Very patient when I was asking questions. My brain was thinking so fast, I couldn't get out everything! I felt total comfortable with him and am glad he will be performing the surgery. I have to give kudos to his staff, Joyce and Debbie as I bugged them several times while getting my insurance information submitted!! Thanks for putting up with me!!
I haven't met Dr. Schroder yet, but from what I have heard he is an excellent doctor. I have an appointment with him Dec.13,2001.
I met Dr. Schroder and he was very informative. Didnt act like he had a million other things to do besides talk to me. His office staff was very nice also.
I think I will be able to tell more once I have the surgery, but so far , I really like him and would recommend him to others.
1-24-01..Well, I am done with surgery and still dont have anything negative to say. I honestly thought Dr. Schroder was a sweet, loving , caring man. He really cares about his patients. Although I am SURE, like everyone else in the world, we got to work to make money. Believe me, if the money wasnt at my job, neither would I be, but honestly I think that Dr. Schroder gets a lot more from his job than just the money
I liked the way he spoke to me the first time I met him and my delight and trust in him has just increased. He is very likeable, has a great bedside manner and is very straightforward in his manner of speaking. Not one time did he withhold any medical information from me. He advised me of the risks of surgery but also told of its advantages.
His office staff was very friendly and courteous. I found them to be very professional in their manner as well as their attire. The offices were spotless and I did not do a lot of waiting when I went to the office for my appointments.
He emphasized that aftercare was very important and was very strict about following the dietary changes. Each time that I received an upgrade in my diet, I was very pleased and he always made it seem as though I were receiving a surprise. I felt like a little kid waiting wide-eyed for candy.
I thank God that He used Dr. Schroder to help me improve my health. I could not have gotten a finer physician who took the time to care about me. I didn't feel as though I were just another operation or way to provide money for the doctor. He really does care about his patients and I love him for that. I would recommend him to anyone who needs that procedure done. He's competent, he has a sense of humor, he's very easy to talk to and he definitely not bad to look at. If you happen to read this Dr. Shroder, thank you very much and I agree with a lady whose description of you I read prior to surgery. Only God is perfect but you definitely are a 9.975.
I don't have a negative thing to say about him or his staff and that's the truth.
My first impression of Dr. Schroder was great. He was refered to me by a friend who had surgery by him as well as my PCP. His office is great, staff etc. He makes sure you understand everything you are getting into. He has 3 classes you will attend before surgery as well as apsychological evaluation to make sure you are prepared. I have surgery in 12 days and I have all the confidence in the world in him.
