First impression - good. He was highly recommended by my PCP who I really trust. That made the choice much easier.
Office staff was good. My insurance company took forever to approve (7 months).
I can't think of anything at the moment that I dislike about Dr. Schroder other than he is out of the office this week so my 2 week post-op visit will actually be a 3 week visit.
As far as aftercare there is a set schedule for appointments with him for the next year. There is also a support group that meets monthly that he and his staff recommend.
I would rate him overall as excellent!
I first met Dr Schroder March 28, 2001. He was very nice and informative, seemed to understand what I was going thru. Knew exactly what surgery I needed. I am looking foward to working with him. I Got an appointment very quickly, and he had suggestions on what to do about my Primary Dr. and told me exactly what to do. His Nurse, Debbie is very nice and helpful also, always returned my calls about my concerns and questions.
Well, it has been an adventure in finding Dr Schroder. I went through some upsetting times with another physician and his office. I have now realized that I have alway known the truth. Everything does work out for the best in the long run.
I have called Dr Schroder's office and I have been scheduled for a consult on 4/25. I am so happy with the treatment that I have received from his office. They have ensured me that I would be treated respectfully and given straight, honest answers to my questions. Also that revisions for stomach staple are done and can be successful.
Dr. Schroder has a personable yet professional manner. We've only met once ( my second appt. is scheduled for 01-11) but I've known several of his patients personally
and have never heard a negative word about him. I'll be able to give more first-hand knowledge as i continue the process. I do love the comprehensive program he offers his pre-ops. I've attented 3 classes on Nutrition, the Surgery itself, and Behavior Modification. We also are encouraged to attend monthly support group meetings. The counelor he recommended for my psych evaluation has had many years counseling folks with eating disorders and she has begun a 12 wk group therapy program for we post-ops. I'm so excited!! I feel so relieved that I'm not alone with this.
Dr. Schroder is a very nice doctor. That I trust have done a very fine job. As i went back for my check up he always was very concerned how I was.He is a 10 in my book.
i liked him, my friends have had surgery with him and said i should use him. also insurance company wanted me to use him. he is working with me on insurance issues because i am running out of cobra benefits. i have only met him once.
I am very impressed with Dr. Schroder.
His office staff is great, especially his nurse Tina.
He was very patient and spent a lot of time with me answering the list of questions I had brought with me for my initial consultation.
He emphasizes aftercare quite a bit, and suggests attending support group meetings which are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month at St. Mary's Hospital.
Dr. Schroder was very upfront with me about the risks and benefits of surgery, and very forthcoming with information on how many of his patients had problems after surgery.
Overall, I give him an A+ rating!
Dr. Schroder impressed me as a VERY COMPETENT professional. I completely trust his advice and counsel. Richmond Surgical Group's staff was always helpful and also very service oriented.
If you are considering this surgery, I would recommend seeking consult with Richmond Surgical Group.
Dr. Schroder was attentive to me aftercare and I appreciated his checking me out while in surgery, which resulted in the detection of a ovarian cyst that was causing me pain and discomfort.
He explained the risks to me and consistently asked me for questions. I didn't have any pressing questions at the time because I had been fully informed by him on the risks and benefits of the procedure. I had also gotten much information from the internet.
On my rating scale of 0-10. I would give him a 9.9999. Why? Because only God and Bo-Derek are 10s.
Nice to know Dr. Schroder will be following my progress. CHECK HIM OUT!!!
