My first impression of Dr Greene was a result of meeting him at my initial consult in his office. I had attended the support group session prior to making my appointment but had not actually seen him there for assorted reasons. Anyway, he seemed very knowledgeable and looked to get answers to some very specific questions that seemed to give him an idea of whether or not I really knew what I was asking to get into. The time I spent with him at that initial visit was very brief - I really expected there to be more - but I left feeling like since I was able to give good answers to those few "test" questions, maybe he didn't need to spend a lot of time explaining things to me. Over time, I was able to see him at several more support group meetings and have found him to be someone who does not encourage the surgery for his own sake. He seems to want to ensure that the patient has truly tried everything else and that this is really a last option. He is also emphasizes patient education as being of the utmost importance. I was impressed that he didn't try to sugar-coat the severity or potential complications of the surgery. His office staff is excellent. Julia, Jeanne and Sue are all tremendously caring and willing to go above and beyond to help the patients. I would say that it is absolutely imperative that patients be responsible for gathering their own information and making sure that what they have is correct - don't ask these ladies to do your work for you. This is your surgery and you need to take responsibility for ensuring that everything flows as smoothly as possible. Dr Greene and his staff are emphatic that aftercare is vital to success. He seems to be a dedicated and caring professional willing to go the extra mile to assist his patients.

062403 - Dr Greene's office is amazing! I was approved for medical necessity in one day, and a week later I'VE GOT A DATE!!!! So now, 22 September 2003 I get to "the other side"!!! God is awesome and Dr Greene, Jeanne, Julia & Sue are wonderful. In working together with them, the entire process was able to be short and positive.

I spent a couple of months checking out different surgeons by going to their support groups or appointments. I wanted to find someone that I was confident in and also had a serious committent to the patient and their success. I believe I found that with Dr. Greene. I have been to three of the support group meetings and he has attended everyone and given a presentation/question session. His whole staff is committed. Though I am in the pre-op testing stages I am comfortable with my choice. He is serious about the change in lifestyle and diet that accompanies this surgery. His staff are knowledgeable and have the process down to a science.

I had my surgery on 7/16/02. I have lost 120 pounds to date. Dr. Greene has been with me every step of the way. He tells it like it is and doesn't pull punches. He told me the benefits and the risks of the surgery and let me decide what to do. His after care is rigid, although if you ignore him he will go away. He will do everything he can for you, but you need to work with him. His staff is awesome, although they are very overworked. I would recommend him to anyone. But his competence is definately better than his bedside manner. LOL This man saved my life - bottom line! And I thank him from the bottom of my heart.

I first met Dr. Greene in 9/02 at a pr-op support group meeting. I liked the fact that we were told the good and the bad aspects of bariatric surg. He took the time to answer all the questions posed. On 2/03, I had an initial with Dr. Greene and was definitely less impressed. I felt like I was a part of a cattle-call. All pre-ops are scheduled at the same ( 7 people in my group) and Julia discussed and answered many questions, She was very nice and I didn't mind this part of the appt. It was when we were sent to the waiting room and taken back one at a time for the "consult" with Dr. Greene. At the time I made the appt. I was not told to plan on a 2-3 hr. wait! Fortunately, I didn't have to wait too long because I explained to the receptionist that I hadn't made any arrangements for someone to be home when my kids arrived from school. When I finally met with Dr. Greene, he came off as very cocky and seemed to resent some of my questions. ( Thank God Jeanne was there. She was a perfect liaison. She reassured me, answered all my questions, and to this day has been the most helpful. All of the office staff are nice, ( but inefficient) but Jeanne is the BEST!! I've read several other pts. comments, and have decided that maybe Dr. Greene was having an "off" day. I hope so.

I have chosen for my surgeon to be Dr Barry Greene. I feel his knowledge of the surgerys is impressive, his patient base is huge and growing everyday, Dr Greenes nurses and staff are amazing, and I feel in my heart he cares about each patient.

I met Dr. Greene for the first time at my initial consultation. He is a very kind man and I felt extremely comfortable talking to him. I really liked the fact that he was approachable; very unassumable and polite. Although the pre-op process is a pain in the rear end, I am extremely impressed with how thorough he is. All of the nurses I met and spoke with were so helpful and courteous. I have a lot of confidence in Dr. Greene and his staff.

My first inpression about Dr. Greene was that he was very informative and professional. I first meet him at the support meeting at Holy Cross Hopital before I had my first consultation. He gave a presentation about the surgery and the good and bad of it all. He was very honest about it. Which I respect. He emphasizes after care a great deal with checkups and support group. I feel like I have chosen the best possible surgeon for the job. His other patients feel the same way. I am very happen with my decision to go with Dr, Greene.

First impressioon was he seems ok. I liked him after a while, seemed pretty nice. Office staff was nice too. The thing that I did not like about him was that he has too much on the go and was in and out with me. I waited over two hours to see him and he still needed to run inh and out during my time with him, but he still knew where his head was at all times.

I would trust this surgeon with my life, plus my husband checked him out at the first support gtoup meeting and said he would trust him personally. That helped me a lot.

I've called for an appointment.. But first I have to go to the seminar he has. Its at holy cross hospital. Its not until may because he is booked up. We will see what happens at the seminar in May.looks like this could take a couple months just to get started.

I have only had an initial consultation with Dr. Barry Greene. He seems like a very compassionate man who is knowlegeable in his field and shows genuine concern for the person struggling with morbid obesity. Julia is very sweet and also genuinely concerned about a person's welfare.

After my surgery (need to get letter of medical necessity from PCP and then approval from insurance company), I will update my experience with Dr. Greene and his staff.
