Topic: RE: Shocking News from the Nutritionist!!!
Denise: My surgeon's protocol has always been to eat carbs. They have said that we should always try to eat our protein, not drink it. Their theory was eat your protein first, then have a few bites of whatever else you want. My surgeon always said, if I wanted you to do low-carb, I would've told you to go on a low-carb diet and not have surgery. They stressed normal eating with portion control. As statistics show, people who lose a lot of weight on a low-carb lifestyle, rarely keep it off. I have heard a lot in the news lately that they suggest mini meals to keep your metabolism working. That's what Janet Jackson did and she lost 60 pounds in just a few months. So glad you are back, have missed you!!!! Michelle

Topic: Shocking News from the Nutritionist!!!
Hey MTL family: I just go back from the nutritionist and was told I need to eat carbs with every meal. I need to eat 6 mini meals a day. Throw out the protein drinks and chew! At over 2 years post op, I need to have a more balanced meal plan to get the rest of my weight off. Here's my new breakdown: Calories: 1200 Fat: 40 grams Protein: 60 grams Carbs: 150 grams (shocking!) I'll be back on the MTL train tomorrow with my new balanced nutrition goals. Now I really believe I can do this, with a baked potato in hand!! Hugs! Denise

I can just begin to know what you must be feeling. I lost my father earlier this year and it was hard, however, I wasn't nearly as close to him as you were to your mother. Know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, as is you dear mother. Lots of hugs, Traci

B: english muffin L: microwave meal D: salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, corn S: protein shake, crackers w/peanut butter, soup...okay, and some candy Exercise: That was part of the original plan, but I'm too tired to do it Pamela

Nancy, I'm so very sorry. I know there are no comforting words that will ease your pain. We are just never prepared to lose our mothers, no matter what age. With having lost my own Mom to cancer just a little over a year ago......I am so able to relate as to what you are going through. I'm so glad you were able to be there for her. Be strong my friend, she would want you to remember her with a smile on your face and your heart. She will watching over you from above. My continous thoughts and prayers for you and your family. Love you! Michelle

I have been under a lot of strain the last couple of weeks with this whole baby thing, and I have the numbers to prove it. I'm up 3 lbs, to 218. I have another 10 days before I'll know one way or another if a baby will be here in June. I'm trying to be patient, but when I have too much downtime, it consumes my thoughts. I'm also having crazy baby dreams at night, so it feels like I NEVER get a break! I thought that this week (DH is working a 2-10pm shift, so I won't really see him), I could focus on eating right. I have already eliminated caffeine and aspartame, and I've taken all of my vitamins for a week straight. Now, I need to eat healthy foods and proper portions...and get that exercise in! B: oatmeal L: tuna sandwich, cheese stick D: meatloaf microwave meal, apple S: green beans sound good... Exercise: on my way out the door to walk now Pamela
