Oh Janette - I'm SO glad to hear from you!! I've been thinking about you so much and I was so worried!! I'm sorry you had such a rough time, but let's hope today is the beginning of feeling better and better every day, and getting to a place where you feel 'normal'. You've been through a lot, so be sure to get lots of rest and take good care of yourself. I hope you'll check in often - we miss you when you're not around!! Sending cheerful, healing thoughts and a great BIG HUG!! Love ya! Nancy

Karen: You are doing great. I'm like you, bread doesn't bother me a bit, goes down just fine. I am trying very hard to limit my intake of it. I ate half of a bagel today as we had a breakfast meeting at work. I'm like you I need to get to my goal. I've had some regain of about 10 pounds and that is just unacceptable to me. The doctor says that is normal, but I haven't reached my goal yet so I don't want to be normal. So hang in there, your doing great. Michelle

Plan didn't work out yesterday. Almost, but no. No plan for me today, because I don't know when I will be allowed to eat, or even if I will feel like eating. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend! Pamela

I am sorry that you had such a rough time. Do they know why everything went bad, or just one of those frea****urences? Did they get the blood clot dissolved? Hopefully you will soon be feeling better and can focus on stregthening your body and sucking down as many calories as you possibly can so that you can remain healthy. Pamela

I got home last Fri. noc. Had surgery on Mon. Boy what a trip. Prior I had told of all the pain, nausea etc I was having. I had a scope by a GI Dr. who id'd 2 holes in my pouch as normal. Re: took copies of numerous tests to orginal bypass surgeon who coped me and id's as ulceradted fistula. He did open surgery on me and said I was a MESS. There was tissue, inflamed, necrotic etc grown into my pouch, intestines, old stomach and space inbetween, He had to remove more intestine, the orginal pouch, clean all the growth from between the 2 stomachs and remove part of old stomach and rebuild everything inc. giving me a new and hopefully improved new pouch. I am now a July 04 baby and I guess kinda of an Aug. 06 baby. He put in a g-tube into my stomach for tube formula feedings as I can barely take anything in the pouch and am very malnourished, Not that the above was not bad enough the pain continued to get worse and Dr had me go to ER and CT scan showed fluid buildup and large hematoma(blood clot). Than...I have been running as high as 103 temp but i must say today is the best day I have had to date. Just thought I would give all an update of my last couple months roller coaster ride. Yes that is the question....I am still off the carbs and back down to 160 as of today and have introduced other foods like salad..but I am staying away from the carbs.....I know if I start I will never stop. I know I could polish off a peanut butter sandwich with no problem....some people can't eat bread but boy I can put toast down like there is no tomorrow so I need to be careful.....I will eventually have to start some small portions but maybe I will go as long as I can...the first few days are the worst and my coffee really helps. Plus being busy at work (preparing for school next Tuesday) has been a help to me this week. I really need to reach goal....mentally I think more than physically. Hugs to all.....only 11 pounds to goal but I have been here before and couldn't hold so here's praying this time I can keep going.... Have a blessed Friday everyone.... I am so excited to be going back into the classroom...I am one of these crazy high school teachers that just loves my job so hopefully the excitement of seeing all the kids next week will be enough to take my mind off food for a few weeks to break old habits..... Karen.

Wow, Pam - that sure is a LOT of stressful stuff going on!! I hope that poor little boy is ok - what a shame. I was finally able to eat around 4 PM after having been so sick from the chicken the day before. Boy, that sure lasted a long time!! Needless to say I was ravenous by the time I got home. I grabbed some Ritz crackers and ate about 10 of those - not the best choice but they helped fill the hole. The rest of the evening was protein filled - a little bit of chili, shrimp, 1/2 of a protein bar. I'm holding at 172 - still wanting to get to my goal of 163. I'm off of work Friday through Tuesday and that's dangerous for me....when I'm home I want to nibble all the time. I'm going to have to keep myself busy!! Here's the plan for today: B: Unjury in lemonade L: Unjury in lemonade D: Turkey chili, boiled shrimp Snacks: Lite pretzels, eggbeater omelet with cheese. Totals: Calories: 709 Carbs: 40 Protein: 88 I'm hoping to get my a$$ in gear and do some exercise today!! Hugs, Nancy

Once again, I overdid it just slightly. I was under 1500 calories at bedtime, and then snacked on some bread an peanut butter (not a WHOLE lot!). No exercise, either. Well, the stress just keeps piling on! Tomorrow is my follow-up hysteroscopy. So please cross your fingers that I get the "all clear" to move forward with the baby plans. I went to the dentist yesterday, and he decided that my wisdom teeth should come out. They're too hard to clean, and I'm starting to show signs of periodontal disease (no disease yet, but it's on its way) so he feels it best to have the teeth ripped out of my head next Saturday. THEN, having this little girl here is making me nuts. She's here all the time! Finally, and this is the big one for now...yesterday, we were doing some work in computers, and the teacher was showing us things about Hurricane Katrina that she had found on a local news channel. So she took us to the news channel, and the top story was that of a murder in our town. One of the boys started to cry...he had just found out his grandfather had been murdered by his aunt! His parents didn't even get to break the news to him To complicate things further, all the schools had been in external lockdown mode (meaning no one could get into the school) all day, and no one knew it. On top of that, the elementary had police officers on guard because one of the kids was a relative of these people. But no one notified our school that we had a relative, too. I'm guessing we'll be in lockdown again today because the people they're looking for are still on the loose...with psychiatric problems to boot. Whew...isn't that just a jumbled mess! I think I'm going crazy. B: cereal with banana L: sandwich, cottage cheese, crackers D: meatloaf (didn't have it last night), corn, broccoli S: don't know Exercise: I'd better! Pamela -135 (yes, I'm back down...till the IV tomorrow, anyway)
