Topic: RE: Where the heck is everyone??
Hi everyone - I'm still around, but lurking. I've been going through a REAL stressful period and I'm not sticking to any plan...right back to stress eating. I'm so disappointed in myself and I can see the danger in 'not caring'. I just have so many other critical things going on - just trying to cope. I was supposed to go on vacation next week, but I cancelled that - even though it was a non-refundable airline ticket. At this point, planning for vacation just added to my stress. I'm hoping things will ease up a bit next week, and I am making a VOW to myself to go back to basics and start exercising again. Love you all - let's all make a pact to check in at least once a day. I wish we could set up a chat room somehow - sometimes I need more support than just once a day. Does anyone know how to do that?? Hugs, Nancy

Janette - I'm so sorry to hear that you're having problems. About a month after my surgery, I got so I couldn't keep anything down. I felt sick and nauseous all the time. Long story short, it ended up I had an ulcer and a stricture. I had to have a line put in my arm and feed myself via these injection things...it was pretty awful. I was also put on Protonix and stayed on it until last month. I'm now taking Prilosec because my insurance wouldn't pay for the Protonix any longer. I feel fine now, hopefully it won't ever come back. What exacty is a fistula? Please know that you are in my prayers and I'm thinking positive thoughts that this clears itself up with just meds and you don't have to go through another surgery. Please let us know how you're doing... Hugs, Nancy

WooHoo, Denise!! Way to go!! Bet that feels GREAT!! I didn't stay 100% liquid yesterday - I had some tomato and attempted a turkey burger pattie, but it got stuck and I got so sick... Trying again to day to stay liquids (protein drinks) for breakfast and lunch, then will eat dinner. I've been doing great on the exercising - did the WATP WalkBlaster yesterday morning and again this morning. I did the WATP Walk and Kick (Kickboxing) when I got home from work last night. That's the equivalent of 6 miles in 24 hours, so I hope that makes a difference. I planned to weigh this morning and forgot - I'm on a new schedule with the early morning exercise and I think I was in too much of a daze... Here's my plan for today: B: Isopure Zero Carb protein powder in lemonade (ran out of Carb Countdown) L: Unjury in lemonade D: 2 Turkey burger with some lowfat cheese, tomato, corn on the cob with pepper only Snacks: pretzels...(sorry, just gotta have 'em) Totals: Calories: 709 Carbs: 21 Protein: 97 I don't know if I'll be able to eat two turkey patties, but I'll try so I can up the calories and protein. Hugs, Nancy

Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone has had experience with a fistula. My story is long but I will try and shorten it. RNY 7-04, gallbladder out 11-04. Did well for 1 1/2 yrs, my wt stablized for 6 months and had plastic surg on May 24th. Its been mostly downhill since. Had infections 1st of thigh and bladder, cleared up and back to work 2 days than hospitalized r/t 104 fever and abcesses in arm and pneumonia. Needless to say LOTS of different antibiotics during that time. Also developed continous nausea and lost additional lbs. Lots of tests, blood work etc and have espohageal spasms, "significant reflux" even though on protonix for 8 plus months. Had an EGD (scope) last week and GI DR said normal but I looked at pics and knew 2 holes in the pouch was not. Took all reports, xrays etc to orginal gastic bypass Dr and he scoped me today himeself re" ulcer and fistula. I am continuing with phenergan, now on carafate liquid 4xs a day and protonix dose doubled. He said 50/50 this will help or he is going to have to do surgery and revise, not revsion of orginal surg. Scared you bet I am. Wanting to know if anyone has had a fistula and did it, could it heal on its own. Thanks Janette RNY 7-13-04 363/ 120 barely holding 5-24-06 abdominoplasty, thigh lift and brachioplasty

Denise........you crack me up!!!! I love your positive attitude!!! I am back on track and doing well too! Yay!!! And I have officially switched birth control methods. I was previously using the ortho evra patch and found that it had not only stalled my weight loss but was also helping to gain weight!! I cant have that! Here's my plan for the day: SB protein bar No snack Lunch: no clue going to the fair, will attempt to be a good girl. LOL Dinner: Steak and salad Have a great day!
