This St. Louis weather sure does suck, doesn't it? It's supposed to be 102 degrees, and our AC went out last night. Talk about being miserable! We've had some estimates today, and now I'm just waiting to find out what day they people we chose will come. Hopefully tomorrow, but who knows? We JUST bought a washing machine to replace the one that broke a couple of weeks ago, and now this. ON TOP of my needing surgery to remove a fibroid AND my husband's appointments for his hearing. PLUS, by Friday, we need to pay the taxes on the new truck we bought. Just when we were finally digging ourselves out of debt and getting credit cards paid down, we had to add to them in a big way. Talk about frustrating!
Golly, all I seem to be doing lately is complaining. Maybe I need some happy drugs!
Foodwise, I don't know what I'm going to do for the rest of the day. I'm not really sure where I'll even be...but somewhere with air!
B: cottage cheese
L: wrap, crackers
D: not sure
S: cereal, tsp. peanut butter
Exercise: absolutely not!

Good morning July babies!!
I'm still on my roll eating wise... yesterday was another compliant day... 3 in a row!! Hooray! I've been lazy on the exercise however. Yesterday, I only did water aerobics. It's so hot in St. Louis, once I get home in the evening, I just don't have it in me to go back to the gym or use the Supreme Pilates machine that is sitting in my den. No excuse, just lazy!! I only did 60 minutes of water aerobics today. My ribs hurt from my last aerobics class. I'm going to Atlanta for the weekend, so I really need to get my exercise in. I'm going to try my best not to blow it in Atlanta! Here's today's plan:
Breakfast:
Tilapia
Applesauce
Snack:
AchievOne
Lunch:
Salmon
Lettuce
Cucumber
Lite Dressing
Snack:

Deli turkey
Dinner:

I'm on a roll... yesterday was another excellent day. I didn't get Pilates in, but I did go to a low impact aerobics class and my usual water aerobics. I have a realistic goal for myself. 1 lb. per week. That should not be too difficult, one would think! Even someone without the surgery can do 1 lb. per week. I'm trying to psych myself out! That would put me at 199 by Christmas. It would be so wonderful to finally be in onderland by Christmas. So... here's today's plan:
Breakfast:
Tialpia
Applesauce
Snack:
AchievOne
Lunch:
Grilled Chicken
Lettuce
Cucumbers
Lite Dressing
Snack:
AchievOne
Dinner:
Pork Chop
Snack:
Lowrey's Pork Rinds
Sugar free popsicles
Nutrition:
1355 Calories
44 Fat
25 Carb
153 Protein
Exercise:
75 minutes - water aerobics - DONE!
60 minutes - walking
Have a great day!!

Topic: MTL Tuesday
Well, my eating and exercise went by the wayside yesterday. My husband insisted on going out to lunch, and there weren't any healthy options where we went. Oh, I TRIED to do well, but unfortunately, the calorie content was still too high. It left me barely anything for the rest of the day. On top of that, the day was LOOOOONG, so I was bored and also very hungry at times. I don't know what today will look like at all...I'm babysitting my niece and nephew, so I'll probably take them out just to give us something to do.
Got to see pictures of my new newphew, Evan. He looks just like his father! I'm not really sure if that's a good thing, though
He's a hairless little monkey, that's for sure.
Well, have a great day everyone!

Believe it or not, I actually stuck with my plan...at least, I stuck with my calorie limit. I had to shift some other things around. I also exercised...15 minutes, but I did it!
B: english muffin
L: chicken wrap, cottage cheese
D: little homemade pizzas (the kind made with biscuits)
S: crackers, string cheese
Exercise: Maybe I'll make it to 30 minutes...it's just so darned hot, even in my basement!

Topic: 24 Reasons to Excercise
Do Your Workout Today - By Susie Cortright
Need a little extra motivation to get moving today? Here's a quick list of the ways that today's workout will boost your mind, body, and soul.
Exercise:
· Improves the quality of your sleep.
· Burns fat.
· Boosts your metabolism.
· Charges your immune system for one to three hours after each workout.
· Increases your circulation.
· Eliminates toxins through the sweat glands and lymph system.
· Regulates blood sugar levels.
· Lowers blood pressure.
· Lowers cholesterol.
· Lowers your risk of stroke. Even low-intensity workouts, such as walking and biking, can lower this risk by 23 percent, the American Heart Association reports. A job entailing physical activity can lower it by 49 percent.
· Increases muscle mass.
· Strengthens your heart and lungs.
· Reduces your risk of various kinds of cancer, including breast cancer.
· Slashes your risk of developing coronary heart disease, the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. Burning 2,000 calories per week in your workout and daily activities reduces your risk of heart disease by 40 percent.
· Helps you control anxiety.
· Provides an appropriate outlet for aggression and tension.
· Helps you lose weight. Exercise is critical to any weight loss strategy, and it may be an even more significant factor than diet. A study in Great Britain involved researchers tracking 1,000 female twins. Researchers considered all factors that might influence the women's weight, including smoking, hormone therapy, diet, and physical exercise. Physical activity had the most profound effect on weight. Even the women whose physical activity consisted of relatively low intensity exercises, such as golf and bowling, had less body fat--particularly dangerous abdominal fat.
· Helps keep your body looking great. Your clothes fit better and your posture improves.
· Improves your self-esteem.
· Improves your sex life. One study reports that physically active women are more likely to describe themselves as assertive, sexy, and physically strong. A majority of them also said exercise helped to boost their career, relationships, self-esteem, and sex life.
· Enhances your mood and relaxes your body by increasing blood flow to the brain and triggering the release of endorphins.
· Increases creativity and alertness.
· Reduces stress.
· Energizes you like nothing else. The energy boost from cardiovascular exercise is instantaneous and lasts for hours.

WOW! What an ordeal you went through! I'm glad that it all came out okay...what would we have done without you? Did you have the fibroids removed, or did they wind up taking your uterus out? Here I'm all worried about 1 fibroid, and you had 38! Thank you for sharing your story...it gives me hope!
