Morning everyone We don't celebrate Halloween - so just another day here. Yes, the doctor did get back with me and the rash is because of the iron infusion. He told me to take Benedryl 3x per day for the next three days, and if it's not better after that he'd call in prednisone. The problem is Benedryl makes me sleepy and I have my grandbaby today and Friday, so I guess I'll just itch until nighttime. The Benedryl does work - but I need to get stuff done during the day and I can't be sleepy. Hopefully I won't have to do another infusion, if so, I guess we'll have to use something different. The good news is that the couple of pounds I was up from the steroids from the infusion has now gone. YAY! Anywho, I have a busy day and I'm working around Lilly's naptimes; so I better get busy. Have a great day everyone. Traci

Happy Halloween to those of you who celebrate! Personally, Halloween was never a biggie for me. Traci - how is your rash? Did the doctor get back to you? I was back down to 177.0 this morning, so that's a good thing. I hurt my ankle at tap last night, so I'm not going to exercise today. I think it's better to rest it, then see how it is tomorrow. I'm doing OK with the eating and still feeling committed to watching what I eat, not grazing and drinking more water. How's everyone doing today? Hugs, Nancy

Thanks Nancy - I just put a call in to my doctor. His nurse is going to check with him to see what, if anything, we need to do about this rash.

Traci, You had Dextran, right? Many times a rash is an allergic reaction. I just checked out the Dextran information page and it said a side effect can be an itchy rash and hives. If I were you, I'd just give a quick call to the doctor who prescribed the infusion and let them know. Especially if it's getting worse instead of better. Just to be on the safe side. Hang in there - hope the rash goes away soon!! Hugs, N.

I'm about ready to pull my hair out today. I have all three kiddos home sick today and I have this itchy rash! I noticed some itching on Sunday, but it was just a little at my underarms where my bra is. Didn't think much of it. It was worse yesterday and bothered me more, but I was busy and didn't really check it out much, then last night I was itchier more places and this morning I have a rash on my lower back, and the creases like where my bra and underwear are. Under where my tummy skin hangs too. It's itchy!!!!! I don't know if this is from the iron infusion or what. It's not all over my whole entire body - just these places, but it is spreading from where it started. No bumps or blisters or anything. So I'm puzzled as to what it could be from. I'm super busy today and I don't have time for an itchy rash. So I'm going to ignore it. I'll let ya know how that works for me.

Good morning everyone!! I'm doing OK. I ate a few more carbs than I should have yesterday - couldn't resist the pretzels and 1/2 cup of Product 19, and for dinner I had a Perdue Baked chicken cutlet, so combined they had about 50 carbs. Still, I lost a few ounces... I'm still trying to drink more water - I'm getting in maybe 2-3 bottles a day. I know that isn't enough, but it's hard when I have to be in meetings and if I want to do the treadmill for 40 minutes and I have to keep running to the bathroom. I try to plan it out best I can. I'm managing the food pretty well - SO much better than I was a month ago. Back then I was eating constantly - grazing and telling myself I would get back on track the next day....we all know those old tricks! I'm going to walk for about 30 minutes on the treadmill - nothing too strenuous - I have my hour tap dancing class tonight, so that's a good workout. How are you all doing today? Hugs, Nancy

Nancy - something is definitely amiss - or else your body is maintain where it wants to and nothing is wrong at all. Very possible. I recently and found have been posting some and reading mostly on the OH Graduates board. There was a thread recently about how many calories everyone ate at 11 months post-op. There was a wide range of answers and of course, most gave how many calories they were eating now - some many years post op and I was truly and utterly shocked at how many calories some of these folks are eating. Seriously - some of them are now eating - as WLS post-ops: up to 5,000 calories per day!!!! They are exercising like mad and all that, but still - I don't know how it's physically possible to consume that much food as a post-op; at least my pouch would not hold that much! I would have to do nothing else but sit around and eat all day. Shoot - I never ate that much PRE-op; there's no way I could do it now!! So it's true that we all have to do what works for us and even as post-ops our bodies are very different, just as they are as pre-ops. Soooooo Nancy, instead of fighting and struggling with thinking you need to get to a certain number on the scale, it could be your body has already decided where it needs to be. There's nothing wrong with that. Eat healthy, exercise, take your supplements and don't sweat over every pound or two fluctuation you see. It's normal for that to happen for everyone.

Hi Traci - it's great that you're feeling so much better and have so much more energy - sounds like you're going to need it with all of those kiddies around!! I seem to have stalled with the weight loss. I had one day of 'indulgence' - that equaled two small slices of homemade pizza and 6 whole grain pretzels. I gained 2 lbs. It's really disappointing. I can't quite figure it out. It seems like if I eat over 600 calories per day I gain. Something isn't right there..... Anyway, I'm going to keep plugging away. I'm going to make a concerted effort to get more water in and I'll go to the gym at work and walk on the treadmill for 40 minutes. I already took my supplements today. How's everyone else doing? Hugs, Nancy

Morning everyone WOW - what a difference an iron infusion can make! Squee!!!!! I definitely feel better; and I haven't even slept well since I had the infusion; I think that's because of the steroids. But even so, I still have way more energy than before. Today I have my grandbaby, and my own children are home, and I may also be watching my pastor's granddaughter today for a couple hours. So it's going to be a bit busy (good thing I have some energy! ). I also have my usual daily laundry and I need to sweep the floors and such this morning. So I guess I better get to it. What's everyone else up to today? Are you all staying on track with your water, eating, exercise and supplements?
