My name is Loni and I live in Hemet, California. I started my journey July 27th 2004 at 388lbs. I am sitting at 198lbs with about 20 lbs in skin to have removed, which wont happen until the doctors can figure out why my iron levels wont maintain. Other then the iron thing which I battled before my surgery I have had no complications along this journey. The thing I am finding with my weight is that it is redistributing, I have recently dropped pant sizes but the weight stays the same. I am a 2nd year teacher in Hemet, teaching Emotionally disturbed students and love every minute of it. I have 11 boys and 1 girl in my class and would not be able to do my job had I not lost my weight because there are days that I have to chase students and restrain them because they are being physically agressive. My life recently has changed dramatically because I am now a single mother of 4 which thank goodness for my weight loss because I don't think I could do it at my previous weight. It is very demanding but life is so much better. I cant wait for the summer to literally do nothing. I love teaching to have predetermined time off, plus get to spend a whole bunch of time with my kids. I look forward to staying in touch more Loni

Hi!!! I am sitting about 20lbs more than what I want to be... but from what the PS says it is all skin. I have lost 190lbs. I am just under the 200lb marker woo hooo. The unfortunate part is I cannot have the PS until the doctors figure out why my body wont maintain iron levels. I am in my 2nd year of teaching and have been asked back for next year so I am happy to say I think I have started my career...lol. I am now doing the mom thing alone and I am not having any problems... financially... or physically. I have truly been blessed because of my weight loss. Hope all are doing well... Good luck as we approach our 3 years out marker Loni

Hi Tara I'm here, doing well and no problems or complications from my surgery. I too have gained 10 lbs; but really can't say that I need them. ;) But the good news is that I have been holding very steady at this weight and still feel great and no complaints or worries. I'm supposed to go today for my annual physical and bloodwork; but I have a sick kiddos today, so not sure if I'll make the appointment or not. We shall see. I've already had to reschedule once, so would prefer not to have to do so again. In general, life is just very busy for me now. I pop on and post when I can. Traci

Topic: Quitting smoking!!
I came to post here, not sure if its relevant to weight but I've been a smoker for just over 2 years and I am on day number 3 without! It is tough. I have lived with a smoker in my household for most of my life but never took up the habit until a real stressful time in my life just over two yrs. ago. I find myself eating away yesterday, not even caring if I was hungry. I can't eat alot at one time but I could graze and put it back on... NOT happening to me! I am just so mad at myself for even abusing my body the way I have. I have been through alot in my life of 42 years but that is no excuse. I am strong and don't really need a feel good crutch. I'm sort of rambling, but I need to get this out. Just looking for some support, I'll keep you posted on the weight gain / loss through the next month. At 175 lbs today. Thanks for listening- Beth

Happy Monday! Well all in all I did well last week. Though yesterday was sketchy. My son just started working at a pizza place and of course I had 2 small slices. I woke up late this morning and didn't get to weight. Hopefully it will be kind to me tomorrow. I've started off well today so here's hoping the week will be good! Have a great one everybody, we CAN do this! Michelle

Happy Monday everyone I haven't weighed in a few days, so don't have a clue what the scale says. I've not been feeling well, so haven't been eating much - so maybe the scale will tip in my favor. My normal busy week for me this week. I do go to my PCP tomorrow for a physical and my bloodwork. So I'm curious to see how my levels are holding up. Have a great week! Traci

I was on business travel last week and did not exercise at all! I feel it too! The hotel had a $10 per day policy on the gym. I was too cheap to pay it and my company would not have covered it. I did dance some. I went out a couple of nights with some colleagues. I didn't dance enough to countebalance my bad eating choices. The scale is up 3 lbs! I'm crushed, but I take full responsbility for my actions. This week I'm on a mission!!! I hope to report something positive next week... Have a wonderful week Pamela and the tried and true July babies! Denise
