Topic: RE: Mid-week check in
Hi Michelle,
Sorry it's been so long since I've checked in.
I've had an OK week - I wasn't as strict with myself and of course, if I go over 800 calories a day I start to gain. I'm back at 176 lbs., and that's with drinking two protein shakes during the day and eating a high protein dinner and some pretzels. The only thing I've been doing different is eating a couple of Atkins caramel protein bars a day. Guess that's just too much.....it's so frustrating.
Anyway, I'm not going to give up. I refuse to let myself get any heavier. It just amazes me that it takes a week to lose a pound and a day to gain four....
Hugs, and let's all hang in there!!!!
Nancy

Topic: RE: Pain Meds - What do you take?
Hi Linda,
NSAIDS are Nonsteroidal Antiinflammatory Drugs. Over the counter would be Motrin or Advil, then you can get into the prescription types such as Torodol and Indocin.
Tylenol is not a NSAID.
Hugs,
Nancy

I am doing the happy dance

This morning I weighed under 200 lbs. for the first time since I graduated from high school. Granted it was 199.6 but I would have counted 199.9. Can you believe that I am still losing more than 2 1/2 years post op? Just 5 more lbs. and I will be exactly half of my former self.
So glad to see you are doing well, Nancy. You are an inspiration to us all.

Pam,
So sorry to hear about your grandmother. Pneumonia is terrible for anyone with an impaired immune system for any reason. I will pray for her, your mother and you.

Topic: My grandmother has pneumonia!
My grandmother, who's only 74 (not old by today's standards!) went into the hospital on Saturday with a relapse of pneumonia. She isn't responding to antibiotics, and has gotten WORSE since being treated. She also has cirrohsis of the liver, diabetes, and heart problems...and things are looking very grim. My daughter and I got to see her yesterday and she talked of normal things (such as whether or not I was pregnant yet!), and I am grateful for that.
Anyway, I guess it's probably too late for anyone to pray for my grandmother...but maybe if you could send some prayers to my mother, because this will be very hard on her. She has to be strong for her kids and her siblings, but I know that inside it's tearing her apart.
Thanks!
Pamela
Topic: Mid-week check in
Good morning everyone. It's Wednesday mid-week and I thought I would check in and say hello. How are we all doing so far this week? I'm doing good, sticking to the plan, getting aggrevated at the scale, but hey what else is new right? Hopefully I'll see more results soon. We so get spoiled with our onset rapid weight loss in the beginning that I get so discouraged at this stage. But I refuse to give up, I'm just going to keep plugging away. I hope everyone else is having a great week.

Because I'm out of hamburger!
Actually, I see that Schnuks has extra lean ground beef on sale right now for $1.99/lb. Each package is about 8lbs, and you can buy two. I've been waiting to stock up...now is the time!

I'm still doing well too! Yay! I was down 4 pounds this past week. Hopefully that will continue!! I sorta lacked on the exercise this weekend, so I need to get back on that. Otherwise I'm very proud of myself for not self destroying!!!
Have a great week.

Hi there!
I'm still plugging away - hovering between 173 -175. That seems to be where my body gets comfortable for awhile until it decides to start losing again. I had a pretty good weekend if you don't count the peanut butter pretzels & the Sun chips!
I'm continuing to have my protein shakes during the day and my high protein meal at nights. There's no use trying to do without the pretzels, so I'll limit myself to about 10 whole grain pretzels a day. I usually have a protein bar too if I need that little extra snack. I didn't do much in the way of exercise this week aside from my Monday night tap class and practicing about 1/2 hour a day.
Pam - I'm curious - why no hamburger in the HH? Wouldn't that be your protein source???
Anyway, onto another week - one week closer to SPRING!!!
Hugs to all,
Nancy
