Oops! Sorry about the typo. I meant to say "You're NOT alone in the boat!" (
Ugh.)
Topic: RE: Old habits?
Oh yes! I have some of these that I am trying to break also!
~ Not parking between two large cars in a parking lot because I won't be able to get out of my own car!
~ Going through a wide aisle at a check-out line because I can't fit around my cart to empty it.
~ Carefully plotting my path through a crowded room to be sure I don't have to squeeze through people or acidentally trip over someone.
~ Sitting on the end of a row at the theater or somewhere where I won't have to crawl over people.
All these things aren't necessary anymore, but I still have to break myself of thinking about them. Good luck to you all!

Judy,
We missed you! I am so glad to hear from you and know you are alright.
Like you, I haven't lost much in the last several months, and I keep fighting with the same 5 pounds. It's so frustrating.
I am a snacker....and I love to eat. I can eat larger portions now, and that really scares me too. But, the up-side to the surgery is that I know when to stop eating, and I can push back from the table when I am full, and I like that feeling of being in control.
My husband gave me an Ab-Lounge for Christmas. I love it. Since I haven't been working out at Curves as regularly, I should be getting more exercise on my own. But I am not. Maybe the Ab-Lounge will help me work on this stomach! Ha!
Hey! You're now alone in the boat, girlfriend! All of us have our up days and our down days. It's going to be a life-long battle, just like before, but we're already so far ahead of the game.
My brother called today to say he got a date for his surgery, and he's so excited. I cannot wait for him to start losing that excess weight---and feeling so much better.
Don't you feel better than you did two years ago? Then don't worry about tomorrow....just keep being the same wonderful you and take it one day at a time. You're going to be just fine!
We all love you!
~Laura
P.S. Congratulations on the new job.
Topic: RE: Ulcers anyone?
Thanks for your reply, Lisa. Yes, I take Prevacid 1 x day; maybe the doctor will bump it up to 2 x like you. The lortab is in liquid form, so no problems there. I take Wellbutrin 300 1 x day, birth control pill 1 x day, and a multi and a sublingual B-12. That's about it.
Topic: RE: Ulcers anyone?
I was on steroids after surgery that gave me an ulcer...are you still taking your prevacid? I take the prevacid 30mg solutabs twice a day and they work great. I do know that if you take the lortab without food it would make your stomach hurt...what other meds are you taking?
Hugs
Linda

Good to see you back!!! Hang in there Judy! Just remember protein first, lots of water, and exercise are the main focus. I use a food journal and that really helps keep me on track also. You will make it to where you want to be, just hang in there.
Take care,
Christie

Topic: RE: Ulcers anyone?
Hi Lisa. Thanks for your response. No, I don't smoke and I sure can understand how that would cause trouble.
I don't do anything or eat anything that I can think might cause ulcers. Last time I saw her, my surgeon said that taking a lot of pills all at once every day might cause an ulcer to form in the pouch. After that, I've spread out my vitamins, etc. over the course of the day and the ulcers are even worse.
I'm afraid she is going to recommend a scope. Yuck.
Topic: RE: Ulcers anyone?
So sorry you are having trouble. I haven't had any trouble with ulcers. You don't smoke do you? My Dr. says that his patients that smoke have had trouble with getting ulcers to heal. He says this surgery and smoking don't mix. I sure hope you get better. Take Care, Lisa -105 below goal
