Topic: RE: 8 month-What is your Typical Daily Menu??
You all are depressing me!!!!!!!
Life goes on after WLS!!!!!!!!!
Go out to eat.........
You can eat something anywhere people choose to go. I have a new job and the ladies like to go out to eat 1-2 times a week. You can get grilled chicken anywhere on earth. I can eat a large salad, or a small side salad with chicken on top or cheese etc. It is fun to eat and see what you can eat. Yes everyone monitors us. They need to so i cannot over eat. We went to Olive Garden last week, and yes it used to be my favorite place. I got egg plant parm. jsut like i used to before WLS and i ate about three bites fo it. Sure was good and a large salad, one bite of a bread stick and go****er to go.
I enjoyed every moment of it. Just the taste of real food sometimes is GREAT!
Cheer up and get to eating. Your body tells you when enough is enough.

That's very encouraging news Kristy, Thanks.
My niece has been asking us to take her to Six Flags this summer as it is only twenty minutes from our house and I have been reluctant.
I am down 75 pounds and look forward to being able to ride all the rides with her with out the embarrassment
of waiting in line only to find out I don't fit into the seat. Or fitting into a seat so tight that you go home with bruises.
Or fearing you might fall out of a ride because you don't fit into it that well.
I am hoping to take her before the season is over.

Hi. I just wanted to respond to your comment about your husband needing a support group with other spouses going thru the process with a bariatric patient. I feel the same way. My husband is the same way. He is monitoring me like a hawk, in fact I lovingly (or not so lovingly) call him the "food police". It is very aggravating, even though I know he does it because he wants me to succeed and accomplish my weightloss goals. The thing that he doesn't get is that it is just undermining my feeling towards him and it makes me very angry. We have had numerous fights about this issue and every time, I just get so upset and hurt/frustrated. I think that we both need to just step back and realize that we are both going thru changes and that at the end, we both want the same thing. I can sympathesize with you and just know that there are others out there having the same issues with our spouse. Take care!

I am with you on the plateaus. I am still stuck but at least am down to 215 instead of 220. I have upped my exercise (bike riding 30mins to 1 hr every day instead of 3-4x a week) and weight training every other day or so. Plus walking as much as possible. I have also been trying to REALLY watch what I eat.
I think Renee has a point, I have always been heavy in fact I weighed 195-205 all through High School and went from 195 to 250 in the span of 1 year (20-21yrs old) then the rest 250-320 took about 7 yrs. Now I am down below where I weighed (about 240-250) when I got Married back in 1996. So where I am at now is almost to where I had been for MANY Years. Thing was I was also EXTREMELY active in HS, even though I was that fat. I played Basketball, Soccer, Softball & Tennis all through Jr High & High Scholls. So it probably shouldn't surprise me that it's starting to get really tough to get the scale to move down again.
Anyway, cheer up, we have all hit these points plus we are all different, so don't comapre yourself. Believe me I know it's hard not to. I have lost 105lbs from my heaviest weight but "only" 70 since surgery on 11/7. We have to remember everyone has a unique experience with this. As long as your feeling good physically (the mentally is the more difficult) remind yourself of where you were just those short 8 months ago & how much has REALLY changed. We'll get to goal eventually, just gotta keep fighting for it & realize how much better we are now.

I just have to share this! My family and I went to an amusement park this past weekend. It's something that I have ALWAYS dreaded. Being 5'9" and 330 lbs, you couldn't very well fit into any of the seats. As well as being TIRED through the park. Well, I've just got to say that the 105 lbs that are no longer following me around has made a BIG difference!
I was walking around and enjoying myself with my children. I wasn't tired. I wasn't ready to leave after 2 hours. We really had a lot of fun riding the rides together. Something that we've not been able to do b/c of my weight. I may not be exactly where my surgeon wants me to be (he wants you to loose 45-90 lbs EVERY 90 days), but it's little things like this that bring my spirits up. I'm loosing inches as well. I started out in a 28. The 18's that I'm wearing now, are starting to get big. I guess it's time to try on the 16's, just to see if they fit.
Thanks for listening and for all the support that you all give to everyone! We all will make it! I know that we can do it!!!!

Topic: 1ST FITTING OF WEDDING GOWN
Well yesterday was the first fitting for me to try on my wedding gown. When it was ordered I weighed 198 if I am correct. It was ordered based off of me weighing 175, so in wedding gown terms that is about a size 18. Right now I can where a size 12/14 in jeans and dresses and a size med. top. When my mom and I went in to the bridal shop and they put it on me and it fit and I actually had room to beathe (a very form fitted gown), I almost cried. It was the best feeling. Just the day before I went to the doctor to get my B-12 shot and I weighed in at 174. All I can say is HOLLA GLORY. I won't get it ALTERED until the second week of September, I would like to be at my goal (150) but I doubt that I will, but I will TRY my best! I know that I have to step up my game in the gym from just walking to doing other things as well. Well I hope that everyone else is doing well....keep up the great work.
