Hi Belinda, I had my surgery 11/10/04 and have lost 76 pounds to date. The scale goes up and down but since I continue to lose each month I am happy. I work out about 3 times a week, try to get all my protein in a day at least 80 or more grams and all my fluids. I have gone from a 30/32 to a 18/20 and feel GREAT! I am 5' 2" and seem to be losing slower then others too. I try not to compare myself to others because it was driving me crazy I am sure we will get to goal, keep up the good work. Hi Belinda How much have you lost so far? Also how many calories are you getting in each day? I also belive that you aren't drinking enough water. You need at least 80 oz each day. Also, since you are exercising, you may have more muscle. How many sizes have you dropped? Please post a sample menu of what you are eating. Maybe we will be able to see something that your eating or drinking that may be making you stall. ((((HUGS)))) Dawn

I need encouragement as well, started out at 280 now 205 only lost 75lbs. Everyone else seems to be over the 100 mark, certainly under the 200's by now its going, just slowly. I can't do the water either go to www.bariatriceating.com Nectar protein on sale (my favorites Roadside lemonaide and strawberry/kiwi) I count them as fluid intake I drink 2 a day with 2 scoops (1 scoop is 27gms protein) so I'm getting 108gms of protein right there then I carry around Crystal light all day ( the different tea flavors and lemonaide) I too feel like I getting to the end with the 1 year mark right around the corner don't we have till 18 months though? Keep up the good work we are all better off then where we started and I guess we have to be thankfull for that!!!

Topic: RE: HELP! How to break a 2 month plateau?
Sorry - I know this is a little late, but I don't get a chance to get to this board very often and I wanted to post some advice that helped me a lot. I was told, by (of all people) a nutritionist, when I consulted her about plateaus - that I have to stop playing the 'victim' role when it comes to my weight loss and healthy lifestyle efforts. She said that even though we have been given a wonderful tool to aid in the process, losing weight and maintaining it will ALWAYS take effort. If you're exercising at a level that you've become comfortable with, you must push a little harder. Our bodies seak to level-out with every routine we begin and if each week you add additional weight/resistance to your weight training or additional minutes to your cardio or just something that makes your body work a little harder, it will respond in the right way. If you find yourself saying, "Yeah but" I did this or "Yeah but" I already do that, it's a trap and you shouldn't let yourself get sucked into it. If it were easy, we would have lost this weight long ago, right?! LOL - Anyway - this lady tookt the 'Dr. Phil' approach to revamping my attitude and it worked well, I broke my plateau and I look forward every day to challenging my body with something different. Good luck!
