Robin, LOL i do this also and i am sure if they would admit it they all do also. I have lost 95 pounds this week and i spend most of my time taking clothes back that i have purchased. I still cannot get in the brain that the 14-16's are fitting. I got a pair of capris yesterday that are size 14. I cannot believe it either. I came from a 30-32 to 14 in just 7 months. I am working on the image thing myself. i have the bat wings that are terrible and the thigh thing what ever you call it. I too came from a 28 swimsuit to the size xlarge this summer. But where do the thigh hangs go. I wear shorts over my bottoms because the thigh hangs are bad. LOL Hang in there we will see ourselves small someday. p.s. what do you tell others when they ask what happens when you are thru loosing? I just wonder what to tell folks? thanks Debbie-East Texas Area

1.How close to goal.....I started at 225 and am down 75lbs to 150.My goal is 135 so I have 15 lbs to go! 2.I've gone from a 20 to an 8.Some 6's fit depending on the cut. 3.I was doing a workout at home including the crosstrainer, some weights and pilate stretches. The combination took about 45 minutes every other day.I have this week started a morning mountain walk in a state park close by.It takes about 25 minutes of hard walking to get to the top!(Ouch the 1st few days)But it sure feels good after. I haven't been doing as many situps as I should. My stomach is the worst part of me since the weight loss.A TT may be in my future. 4.I usually have half an english muffin/peanut butter to start the day. During the day I snack on cheese/crackers and fruit. In the evening I eat whatever the family is having for dinner only in small portions. 5.I am going to my 25 high school reunion the end of July.I was hoping to reach my goal by then but it doesn't seem likely now,but I am very happy with where I am!

Hi Robin! I can totally understand how you feel! In February I looked at the "thin" clothes I used to wear years ago and remember that I thought I was "fat" then(size12). I am now very close to wearing them again! But I do have to keep reminding myself how far I have come and that I do look good!!! I want to get to a size 8,which I will, but I feel good now. But you must be comfortable with yourself and how you look! I have seen so many women that are comfortable with themselves that are still big. Look in the mirror everyday and tell yourself that you are a fabulous person, you look great and you love yourself. It really does work. You have to make a concious(sp?) effort to put those negative feelings out of your mind. But eventually, they will be gone! As for the pool...how about a one piece with a sarong? They are so in style this year. And just remember... there are far worse looking people out there. YOu have made a huge change in your life....Congratulations!!!! Lots of Love! Cyndy

Topic: RE: Will we have to eat like this forever???
Here's what I've been told and heard at my support group meetings. The oz of food will depend a lot on the food. You could eat a lot more mashed pototes than you could chicken. The pototes are mussy so you can hold more in your pouch. The chicked is more dence therefor you would have a hard time eating say 6oz of chicked in one serving. About waiting 1/2 hour to eat after you have drunk something, is because, I've been told that's it's because our pouch can not hold much. So you want the water out of your pouch before you eat so that you are getting filled up on your good food choices. The reason you wait the 1/2 after you finish eating is somewhat the same. You don't want to push the food out of your pouch to soon or you will get hungry more quickly. Hopefully this helped some. Robin W.

Topic: Will we have to eat like this forever???
Hi, I was just wondering, they say that our pouches will stretch out to an average 6 oz by the time we are done. i am wondering if we will always have to not drink 1/2 hour before and after and never during our meals or if eventually we will be able to have a little water or such during meals. will our pouch become such that we can handle that?? any help is greatly appreciated thanks so much stacy leary 262.5/145.0

1.How close are you to goal? I had my surgery on November 11 2003. my weight on that day was 402. I just went to my PCP and by her scale I am 290 so i am down 110 pounds. 2.How many sizes have you dropped? Not sure I was at least a 32/34 now i can do 22/24 i may be smaller but i am enjoying my cloths loose. 3.Are you exercising (be honest )? If so what is working for you? I get in about 15 min of walkin a day. It is on of thje pluses of working with teenagers . I can work and get paid to put in my exersising. 4.What are you eating? Non of these things are in larged amounts. I do good if i get 4oz of my protien in a day. I drink lots of water. my stomach just does not hold much. Oddly i do best with pork. No not just bacon. ham ,pork lion, devil ham, tuna, some fish if cooked right, the same with chicken it must be very tender, scramble egges, cheese, rye bread 1/2 slice, cantalope, honydew, bannanas. I can eat sugar but have no taste for it. once in a while a taste is all i need. I stay away from carbs as much as i can. 5.Do you have anything special planned for when you reach goal? Well my only gaol in weight was to see a 2 in my weight. The other is to put up that tree swing i talk about in my profiel. this was a great idea to write this

Hey Robin... I can feel your pain This is what I posted on the main board earlier tonight... "There is a scene in "The Return of the Jedi" in Jabba the Hut's bar where there is a blue dancing alien woman who looks like she has about three sets of boobs down the front of her?!?!? (PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one *****members this... LOL) Well...that's what I'm looking like now; with the exception of being blue and actually dancing in front of a camera.. I look like a marshmallow that's being squished between two graham crackers.. " I'm down 95lbs and over 88 inches and like you; I still see fat. I believe to a degree we all will be this way for a while. We have been large for so long that minds and psyches are having a hard time catching up and adjusting to the visual input we keep giving ourselves when we see our reflections. Take the compliments with grace and give them the best smile you have. Isn't confidence great?!! Have fun at the pool!! Melissa

Hi everyone, I'm sorry I haven't been on here lately, but I've been busy with my job and with parents who are in a nursing home. I'm down 95lbs at 6 1/2 mo. out. I just had my six mo. checkup with Dr. Weiland. All my blood tests were right where they are supposed to be. That made me extremely happy, cause I was afraid of B12 shots, and I hear they are not fun to get. The many, many changes I'm discovering because of my weight loss are numerous. It just amazes me what is happening. It's a new start in life. I thank God I found Dr. Weiland and staff. I know he doesn't like hearing how wonderful he is, but when I saw him at my check up I told him he was an angel and he said no I was the one who had to do the work, but without him I wouldn't be able to do the work. Now after 6 mo. I have to start the hard work to my goal. The first 6 mo. of weight loss is because of the surgery and the next months til my goal is my job. EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE. Now that I can, I will. I'll try to be more efficient in updating and chatting. God Bless all of YOU! Barb Johnson
