o; those choices. yes, it makes it tough when everyone else is enjoying 'candy'. I gave my kids fruit for easter. kept the candy out of the house. I have found the Advantage Smor's protein bars or the chocolate mint protein drink to be good substitute for my chocolate cravings. mark g.

Topic: RE: Diet Sodas?
i've tried it; but they taste awful. I used to drink over a 6 pack of soda a day; now I can't stand the taste of soda (regular or diet). Other than water; herbal mint tea is my favorite drink; and an occasional cup of rice milk. as mentioned above; if your doc says it's o.k.; and you tolerate it. go for it. mark g.

I have been the same way. So please know that you are not the only one that has learned to eat small amount os sugar when we should not. I too had some candy yesterday. Some malted milk eggs & jelly beans. Spread out over the whole day, but still not the food I should be eating! I too cut down on candy for my daughter & gave some toys. I was hoping I would get sick too, or just that naseaua feeling, but it did not come. It is hard to make the right choices all the time. Priscilla 198/136/120

Topic: Easter Candy!
UGGG!! Temptation sucks! I have done soooo well... seeing all the easter candy in the stores... passed right by it... TILL EASTER! I filled the baskets for my kids and hubby Sat. night. I even cut back on the candy and got them a few outfits and little toys instead. But we know we didn't get here by making all the right choices. I ate 1 hershey kiss w/ caramel....ummmm.... then another... well lets just say I manipulated myself, spread out the pieces and ate some more.. Why do I do this to myself?? I kind of hoped I'd get sick... but I seem to have figured out my way around doing that... most of the time anyway. I know what I am supposed to be doing, I've come so far, but it seems now that I'm almost 5 mos out.. I test myself and fail each time!!! I know the response I'll probably get is I need to try harder, be smarter...etc.... and I know this... but like I said, I didn't get to the point of surgery by making all the RIGHT choices... Sorry just needed a minute to vent Hope the rest of the week is better than today !! Jessica 258/194/

Topic: FIRST GOAL MET
Death in the family can drive anyone insane, not to mention put the pounds, cause all I have done is eat this last week, just uncontrollable eating. But I am starting to get back on track, LORD willing! I did make it to the Discovery Body Challenge Weigh out on the 4/3/04. I started this partic. journey on January 10th weighing 243 and ending at 202, weight loss of 41 pounds. I went this mid-morning to get my B-12 shot and weigh in......199.1. I could not be more pleased, I couldn't stop smiling, seeing as I have not smiled in over a week. I made my first real goal, I am finally under 200 pounds. -Shari 287/199/ 155

Cecil I am glad you brought this up. I can drink diet pepsi slurpees by the gallon and actually enjoy them very much. So I thought I would try just a sip of reg. diet vanilla coke. That SIP caused me to continously dry heave for the next hour and have that want to throw up feeling the rest of the day. Until now I have never dumped on ANYTHING. I guess all good things must come to a end. But to give my opinion on your question, if your doctor says its ok and your body will tolerate it, go for it! Good Luck -Shariyun 287/199/155

YES, THEY SURE DO. I have been stuck on mine for about the same length of time. I stared at 253. I have been stuck at 200 for a month or so. *sighs*

I am typically at a plateau every month. I will usually only loose any weight about 1 week out of the whole month. So I definetley know how they suck! But know this, the plateau will end & you will start losing again. I am now down 62 pounds since November 4th 2003!
