Topic: Easy - Good protien shake recipe...
Hi everyone, I recently found a really great protien shake recipe that I actually like. I don't enjoy the atkins or other premixed ones, they all taste too sweet to me or something, but this one is great - I really look forward to it. here's how I make it... In a blender add... 1/2 container Dannon lite/fit yogurt (any flavor) 2 heaping Tablespoons cottage cheese 1/2 cup frozen berries - (use the same kind as your yogurt flavor) 1 scoop unflavored whey protien - (I use "All the Whey" whey protien isolate) 2 packets of splenda 1/4 cup 1% milk - (this is just to thin it out a bit - you can use any kind of milk you can tolerate.) Puree for 60 seconds and enjoy! I really like this, it's a great breakfast. I found it helped with the plateau breakage as well, since it's something different from my ordinary routine. Good luck to all - Sheri Byrne

Topic: RE: Anyone else lose 100 lbs yet?
I had my surgery on November 11th and I have lost 117 lbs. so far. I sometimes get disappointed because it has really slowed down now. I still have so much more to lose that I worry I won't reach my goal. But I try to remember that I will still lose for a while so I just have to hope I can do it! 395/278/?

For the past 3 weeks, I have also felt very dizzy and light headed all the time!!! My surgeon sent me for an echocardiogram, which was reviewed by him, my primary dr and next...heart specialist. At the last appt, I had an EKG to compare to my preop workup. Everything is normal, actually perfect!!!! I have also had 3 panels of bloodwork done too!! Nothing. I am now scheduled for a CT of the head and a carotoid study in the next few weeks to rule out anything else. No one is sure why I am feeling like this!!! Even though I am no further in understanding my symptoms, atleast I have peace of mind that is not my heart!!! I glad that you wrote, just knowing I am not the only one going through something like this. Email me if you want to discuss this more. Hope you are feeling better soon!!! Hi! I'm having the same experiences! I started at 252 and I'm now at about 190 -- I think I've lost less than 10 lbs. since mid-February & it's making me crazy!!!!!!! I know I've found I've been able to eat more than I thought I could & I need to be more resolute, but you get so anxious! I'd love to be down to about 175 by now, but I guess I'm still in the ballpark. Continued good luck to all!

Hi Dawn, I would definately call the doc on this one. A friend of mine who had surgery in Sept 03 had some troubles like this... she waited to go to the doc and almost had to be admitted into the hospital!! As far as the plateau, been there done that, I didn't really change much.. just was careful in my food choices and eventually ended up dropping 7 lbs. I guess I am a believer in the body is just "catching up" !! I wish you the best! Let us know how everything is going. Take care ~ Jess 258/194/

Hi Dawn, I know being dizzy can be a sign of dehydration, but maybe you should call your doctor and run it by him and up your water intake. I was told that the plateau is just a way for your body to catch up to the weight loss and it should kick back in. My body goes two to three weeks of hardly losing then I lose a chunk and it seems to have been repeating this pattern since the surgery. Good luck and let us know how you make out. Darlene
