Jessica, I do not think too many people can say that they haven't cheated with crackers, ceral, candy, etc (whatever their vise is). Liquor is just another "cheat". We all cheat a little. Just remember that alcohol will affect you alot faster so be careful. Just "nurse" your drink and have fun!

I just recently had a drink for the first time. I had a white russian. Drank about half of it and was feeling pretty good, drank the whole thing and I was ready for a nap. But it only lasted for about an hour then felt normal again. My dietician told me that I could drink on special occasion, but still nothing carbonated. She suggested just vodka and OJ, but I like my drink a little creamer thats why I went for the white russian.

Before I begin, I don't need any lectures and I have already talked to my doc about alcohol ~ (I only say that because on the main board, someone made a comment and I couldn't believe some of the feedback she received... she was only looking to see what other people have experienced!! ) I know we all are 3-4 mos out and was wondering has anyone experienced with alcohol???? I was not a big drinker before surgery, but LOVED my JACK & COKES and an occasional girls night out! I just recently in the last mo. or so tried a little wine - which I drank maybe 3/4 of a glass and boy, I felt that and went right to sleep! I have also tried light beer while I was on vacation, seems I tolerated that a little better, but couldn't drink much... didn't really need to.. but the buzz seemed to go as quick as it came!! As far as my doc, he said special events or occasions is one thing, but during these most valuable months of weight loss - stay away from alcohol, as it it dead calories. He advised me once I have locked in my weight and am more stable, there will be a time and place for it. But I do have to say, I do miss the occasional going out and dancing and drinking with the girly girls! Jess 258/195/135??

Topic: Four month anniverary!
Hi everyone! I just wanted to share. On Friday it was my four month anniversary and I have lost 108 pounds! My BMI has gone from 57.4 to 39.7. I went to an amusement park with my sister and her youngest sons over the weekend. Actually got on the roller coaster rides and I even fit comfortably in those little cars! We walked all over and I felt wonderful!! To those of you who can relate, I don't have to tell you that having this surgery was the best thing I ever did! Even with my hernia repair coming up in a week and a half! Have a great week everybody!!

Absolutely!!! Protein, water and exercise! It's common to stop losing for a week or more but you have a better chance of losing again sooner if you increase your protein, water and exercise! Also make sure you're getting your vitamins in. Congratulations on your loss! You're doing great!
