Topic: RE: Do you drink?
When I saw your title I thought we were going to be talking about alcohol! I was a diet coke addict before surgery now I can't drink them at all. I take one tiny sip and then belch for 5 minutes--it isn't worth it.
About alcohol...I know we aren't supposed to drink any for 6 months (May 3 for me) but I have taken a tiny bit here and there and guess what? Since my surgery I have lost ALL tolerance for alcohol. I am a cheap date now! Giggle.

Topic: RE: No one reads this msg board????
Hi Jennifer,
I like this board, too, because it helps to know other folks I'm more or less in step with on this process. But I only check in every couple of days. Glad you found us, though.

Topic: RE: Do you drink?
Hi Jennifer! Yes ,I do drink diet coke and diet Pepsi.I only started recently though.Pre surgery, I could drink up to 2 litrers a day.Now ,I limit myself to a tall glass with ice,3 times per week. I plan for them and dream about them. You see, when I drink these diet sodas it makes me feel hungrier.I feel as though I need to eat something after.Maybe its the bubbles?? who knows??I also find ,that they make me retain water. Take care Tracey.

Jennifer, I drink my soda!!!! (diet) Can't live without it. I only drink about one can a day though. My doctor says it is o.k. as long as I drink other stuff too. It must not be hurting anything, I went this week for my 4 month check-up and he said that I was doing fantastic.

Hi Jennifer
I do not drink soda, i don't have any sugar either, but that is just me. i find that if i just tell myself that i can't have these things or i could get sick that i can stay away from them, but where you have had these things after surgery that will be harder. i drink plain water but do not particually care for it. what i do is crystal light. right now i'm into pink lemonade flavor and that makes me happy and i don't miss the soda. the fizz and gas can't be that fun i would think.
you might want to try alternatives.
hope this helps you

Topic: RE: Need some encouragement
I discovered soon after surgery that I did not dump on sweets, only grease and fats. I am a sweet a holic. I have always been and prolly always will be. The big difference in me now is that I have a bite or two not the whole bag or box

Topic: RE: depression
I think its normal to some extent. Some days I just feel down in the dumps. Have you had any issues with food? I mean, not tolerating things and being sick? I had that for a long while so I think the contributed to my feeling down all the time just knowing that i was gonna
at every meal.I have been told it all gets better though so hang in there.
