Topic: Do you drink?
Ok, before surgery I was addicted to dr pepper. I got my blood work done at that time and I was told I was full blown type 2 diabetic pretty much becuase of the dr pepper addiction. well, I wanted surgery so bad that I immediately stopped all forms of sugar including my drinks. I dropped 15 pounds within that month. My husband is a dr pepper a-holic so it makes it hard. I was hard then and still hard now. Thing is, I drink Diet dr peppers now pretty much daily. I know I shouldnt do this. I did clarify with my surgeon though, that carbonation does not cause stretching of the pouch but rather the fizz is not 'good' for the pouch and cause cause lots of gas. anyways I cant seem to kick the habit. I dont like water at all unless im eatting mexican food. Are any of you going through this?? I figure as long as Im not in any pain than i dont see why it hurts to continue with my diet drinks. what do you all think? are yall drinking them? thanks for the help guys Jennifer -65

Topic: RE: depression
Hey Surgery Day Sister.... Please call your doctor about depression. Make sure it's something that they and you can take control of. Don't let yourself go into a downward spiral! You have come a long way! As far as the hair...I hear you. About 3 weeks ago I started taking GNC's Ultra Nourishair. It seems like in the last couple days the falling out has slowed way down! I also have very short hair and thin hair to begin with. I have highlights and a good cut, so it adds volume to my hair. I can tell how thin it has become, but my husband still insisits he can't see it. So, I am really hoping this GNC stuff is helping. Anyway...hang in there girl! We are here for ya!

I post every week or so. I am working, and my husband is in the military, so all my free time is spent with him. This board is actually great. It's the only board on obesity help I post on. Welcome!

Topic: RE: Has everyone started losing their hair?
Mary, My hair is falling out something terrible and started at about 3 months post op. i knew going into this that it was possible but thought I wouldnt have to worry about it because i have/had plenty to spare. At this rate I hope I dont need a wig soon I have head that at some point (someone said around 7 months post op) that it stops. I dread washing my hair even because i know that I will loose even more hair (always a big clump in the sink stopping the drain up). Also, the other day I was vaccuuming and smoke started coming from the vaccuum cleaner and I turned it over and it was stopped up with MY HAIR... OMG!! Jennifer -65
